For the obverse of the 2025 1/10 oz Silver Britannia Coins, The Royal Mint features a portrait of His Majesty King Charles III from Martin Jennings. This left-profile bust of Charles III showcases the king without a crown on his head. This is the first portrait of his reign and was designed in late 2022.
In the reverse design of 2025 British Silver Britannias, the mint offers a depiction of Britannia from Philip Nathan. Designed in 1987, it showcases the full-length figure of Britannia wearing a Corinthian helmet on her head while clutching a trident in one hand and Union Jack shield in the other.
The reign of Queen Victoria saw Britannia reach the height of her symbolic power. As the British Empire expanded to its zenith, Britannia came to embody the ideals of imperial rule, civilization, and progress. She was featured prominently on coinage, in public sculptures, and in patriotic imagery, becoming a ubiquitous symbol of British dominion over vast territories.
