Let’s see now, if I see a mouth breathing, bearded, long haired, thin guy wearing glasses, and driving a Volvo, on the campus of Berkeley, I am ’profiling’ him as a liberal creep. Fair?
If I see a beautiful, 25 year old, blue eyed blonde, riding in a Rolls Royce convertible with a 60 year old distinguished looking fellow, I suppose I would be ’profiling,’ if I assumed that his money bought her, either temporarily, or permanently.
If I see a smart, superbly dressed woman, shopping in a swank Rodeo Drive shop, I am ’profiling,’ if I think she’s either rich or married to a rich man.
If I see a run down house, paint peeling off, several raggedy dogs barking in the weed choked yard, shingles missing on the roof, and it is in a good neighborhood, I am ’profiling’ that the house’s owner is a slob and a nuisance to his neighbors.
If I see a rusty old car, and smoking blue smoke, I am ’profiling’ that it probably burns a lot of oil, and hasn’t been well cared for,
If I see people in a library, reading, or in a book store perusing books, I am ’profiling’ that those people are of above average intelligence.
If I see a group of tourists, being guided by a tour escort, and all speaking German, I would ’profile’ that they are Germans visiting the U.S.
If I see a restaurant that is pretty, well landscaped, and has its parking lot full, with people waiting to be seated, I would ’profile’ that it is a good place to eat.
If a cop sees a beat up station wagon with ten Mexican appearing people in it, violating a traffic rule, he might ’profile’ them to possibly be illegals.
We all ’profile’ things, every hour, every day, every week, every year, our entire life. We decide where we want to live, eat, and what stores to patronize, based on appearances, displays, neighborhoods, availability of parking, landscaping, and cleanliness. Singles ’profile,’ when they look at the opposite sex, and decide whether they would like to date them, marry them, or be disgusted at their very sight. Don’t you think a single man ’profiles,’ when he looks away from a 300 pound woman, and the reverse with a woman?
Would you buy a house that isn’t well maintained, at the same price as one that is well maintained? Would you buy a house in Phoenix without a cooling system, or a house in Minnesota without a furnace? If you like classical music, would you go to a rock concert, or a concert featuring the works of Mozart? That is ’profiling.’
If you are white, would you buy a house in a black neighborhood? If you are wealthy, would you buy a sleazy car to drive? ’Profiling,’ is as natural as breathing, and everyone does it constantly, all their lives.
So what is wrong with the police stopping a law violator, and if they speak no English, asking to see their green card? What is wrong with expelling illegals from our sacred ground? You liberals make me sick! (I can’t wait to write Thursday’s column!)
Arizona’s law violates ’civil rights?’ What ’civil rights’ should an illegal have? What’s the difference between a person entering the United States without permission or a person entering my property without permission? Anyone entering my property who shouldn’t be there, will die. Colorado has a ’make my day law.’ I’ll make anyone’s day, who tried to rob or abuse me, with the squeezing of a trigger. Why should Mexicans be immune from what you would do to someone entering your property? As the song goes, “This land is my land, this land is your land, from the redwood forests, to the gulf stream waters.” Damned right it’s my land, and I don’t want refuse from Mexico polluting my land, and getting free education, citizenship, medical care, food stamps, and all that the liberals want to give you.
