I always have been a huge supporter of the local police, and state police. I know the local police chief personally, and Gary is a great guy. Still, as regards to owning guns, and unregistered ones at that, remember this: Police cannot stop crime. Check out the facts. When an accident happens, or robbery, murder, rape, or other mayhem, the police arrive the fill out the reports, examine the crime scene in an effort to apprehend the guilty, and do everything in their power to arrest the culprits. BUT, they cannot stop crime! They try to find the guilty, charge them, and arrest them, but 99.9% of all crimes are committed, and there are no police around to prevent them. When a motorist runs a red light and causes an accident, did the police prevent that accident? No. When a robbery or murder takes place, were the police there to prevent it? No. I love the police and support them in every possible way, but they cannot prevent crime, other than arresting the guilty, if they can find them AFTER their deed is done. By taking them out of circulation, a certain amount of crime is prevented, I admit, and that’s what they are really good for, no question about that. When a state trooper arrests a drunk or speeder, he has possibly prevented a serious accident, but the papers are full of drunks causing deaths, because no trooper or policeman observed them. By all means, respect, admire, and support local and state police, but protect yourself by being armed at all times.
When the orders eventually come down to confiscate the guns, and those orders will indeed be issued, those with the registered guns will lose, and the poor cops will be obligated to follow orders. When it happens, if your guns are registered, I trust you will concoct a story going like, “Gee, I had that gun stolen years ago,” or “Sorry officer, I sold that at a yard sale last month.” Have a great weekend!
