The Ill begotten, ill fated, Bush war won’t go away, but those who voted for it should. Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, according to the polls, will lose Tuesday to a fierce anti-war Democrat, solely because of Lieberman’s vote to go to war and his continued support of it. Dubya’s kiss on the cheek hasn’t helped either. Last week, Hillary took the spotlight and accused the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld of everything on the books as far as poor management. She was excellent. Still, there is the basic fact that Hillary voted for it, and was a staunch supporter of it till it went wrong. Oops! Maybe it’s time to change your mind Hillary and Joe? Never forget that Hillary was a staunch supporter of Ayn Rand, and was a super libertarian-conservative-Republican in her earlier years, as was Sir Alan. My, how minds can change! I want to know this: If you change your mind about something, and realize it was a mistake, why not admit it? Neither Hillary nor Joe Lieberman have ever done that. Words cannot express adequately my disgust and outright hatred of Hillary Clinton, and I don’t think she has a Chinaman’s chance of ever becoming President…at least I hope she doesn’t, and neither does Lieberman. Maybe, if Lieberman had changed his mind and admitted his mistake, rather than espousing the tired old saw of ’supporting the President in time of war,’ he might not have primary troubles Tuesday. It is obvious to all but the morons and thick headed that it is a huge mistake. On C-Span Monday morning, the utter stupidity of the American public was demonstrated, when a woman, in support of Lieberman said, “What else could we do (but go to war in Iraq) after that attack?” I wonder how many people actually know that 9/11 was a total fraud? The Rocky Mountain News says that 36% of Americans now question it, and that’s nice.
Did you ever change your mind about something and fail to admit it? I wonder how many marriages have ended because of that? If you make a mistake, ADMIT IT, either to your wife, husband, kids, boss, or constituency. Admitting a mistake isn’t that difficult, and it really clears the air. No matter how serious it is, admit it, and you may save your job, marriage, or public office.
And while we’re at it, isn’t it about time to admit that saving in paper dollars is one huge mistake? Isn’t it about time to admit that living in the high property tax states with all that corruption, humidity, and racial tensions, is a mistake and should be remedied? It takes guts to change your ways and make changes which will benefit you, be it to stop smoking, living in the wrong place, or failing to admit a mistake, and that includes politicians. Those who admit mistakes and change a course which is in obvious error, will always be glad they did.
