Is George Bush under the impression that the electorate is nuts? The NIS (National Intelligence Estimate) has said that the Iraq war is fomenting Muslim anger, outrage, and jihadism around the world. Bush and the republicans don’t want to run on Iraq, which is a disaster, and which I predicted three years ago would be so. They want to run on ’terrorism’ and to convince the voters that they are the ones who will protect us from it. In defense of his position, and to avoid taking blame for Iraq, he has released 10% of the NIS report. 10%? What’s in the remaining 90% Mr. Bush? Can anyone doubt that the Iraq invasion should never have happened? Why don’t they admit it? 61% of the Iraqis want us out NOW and think our presence is making things worse. 78% think our presence is not having a stabilizing effect. Cut and run? Why not?
Then there is the case of Mark Foley who abruptly quit the congress when his salacious e-mails were released by ABC. While other scandals in D.C. have not resulted in instant resignations, but pleas of innocence in some cases. In the case of Barney Frank, the homosexual from Massachusetts, who admitted to having a male prostitute living in his house, his seat seems to be secure. Of course Massachusetts tolerates all sorts of elected official conduct, as witness Ted Kennedy, plus the fact that if one is caught with a gun, even if it is registered, a one year jail sentence is mandatory. I have a few clients in Mass, and they all are ashamed to admit living there, but circumstances mandate it.
Why in the name of peace and common sense, would any parent, no matter how dedicated to a political party they may be, send a 15 or 16 year old to Washington D.C. for a summer to intern with a scumbag congressman? The Nation’s Capital and Capitol Hill in particular, is home to the most degenerate, rotten, lying pack of thieves known to history. All politicians throughout history, and in all civilizations have turned corrupt in the majority of cases, unless my reading of history betrays me. In China now, politicians have been accused of stealing millions. England is full of bribery, sex scandals, and rottenness, as was Rome, Babylon, Persia, and all other nations in history. Why would parents send their kids off to the home of the D.C. Gang for a summer? Foley may be a degenerate, but what about the irresponsible parents who sent their sons there?
