How To Win

I watched Meet The Press Sunday, as I usually do, and I was appalled at Republican Kennedy (Minnesota) try to keep his seat, which I am sure he will loose.  What a moron!  Hey Republicans, want to keep your seats?  Then make the brief speech below, and you will keep it.  Otherwise I don’t feel sorry for you, because you don’t deserve to keep it.  You Republicans out there:  E-mail this column to your Senator or Representative, and tell them to do this or out they go.

“It’s a difficult thing to do, but I have come to realize that my vote to give the President the power to go to war in Iraq was a huge mistake.  Mea culpa.  I have begun to realize that throughout the history of America, Republicans have gotten us out of wars, not gotten us into them.  My vote to give the President the power to go into Iraq was a huge mistake, and I beg your forgiveness.  North Korea may feel threatened because for over 50 years, there have been tens of thousands of American troops on their border with South Korea.  I can see no reason for this, as it has caused uneasiness in the North.  South Korea can defend itself, and I hereby urge the President to immediately remove these troops, as well as our troops on Okinawa, to ease the tensions they have caused.  I have now realized that many Republicans have gone awry in their actions and votes, and I want to distance myself from all embarrassments which certain lobbyists and Representatives have caused the Grand Old Party.  If Speaker Hastert did indeed ignore facts as they were presented to him, I urge him to resign.  I am embarrassed by my President and Vice President, and want no recommendations or help from them regarding my re-election.  I promise to do my best to vote to eliminate all earmarks and other foolish spending, and to bring our brave troops home with all possible dispatch.  I wholeheartedly disagree with President Bush regarding the hundreds of thousands of illegals which are flooding our land.  I want a 2,000 mile fence or wall, and I want this built NOW.  I am not in favor of amnesty for law breaking illegals.  The true mark of an honest man, is to admit he made a mistake, no matter how large it may be, and no matter the reasons for the mistake.  I am hereby doing just that, and am not defending my vote any longer.  The faulty information presented to me, which caused me to vote wrong and to support my President was perhaps the worst mistake I have ever made in my lifetime, and I wish to disavow that vote, and any support or connection I may have with the President and Vice President.  They will be gone in a couple of years, but I wish to remain as the trusted representative of you, my constituency, and the party in which others, like myself, were deceived.  I want your vote please.”

Of course none of the Republicans would have the balls to do this, and they will probably lose the House and Senate because of their stupidity.  The GOP will fail because of absurd loyalty to Bush and Cheyney, failure to recognize the feelings of their constituency, and lack of ability to admit mistakes.  You’ve got about three weeks to change your ways guys, or out you go.  America isn’t going to vote on terrorism, or local issues.  They’re voting on this war in Iraq, and the millions of  illegals, and you’d better damned site distance yourself from your Iraq vote, amnesty for illegals, and admit you have made mistakes.

PS This morning, a client of mine called to tell me that Investment Rarities in Minneapolis is over $2400 higher than me for bags of US silver coins, delivered.  This is their firm price.  This outfit has 40 little  cubicles with people calling and making nuisances of themselves, trying to sell numismatics, on which they clean up.  My, my, no wonder I keep getting new clients!  I wouldn’t bother anyone by calling them if my life depended on it.  If you want something, you’ll call me.  If someone calls you, they’re looking out for themself, not you!

PS to PS.  Did you know that if you wish to make a reservation with Delta Airlines, you’ll be talking to someone in India?  I won’t fly Delta, needless to say.
