Guerilla warfare was perfected in Vietnam, and is in constant use today…by the Iraqis and Afghans. The guerillas hide out of sight, and plant roadside bombs. The don police uniforms or U.S. uniforms, and fool their victims. They kidnap, behead, and murder in secret. They blow up mosques and do things in anonymously, and are unobtrusive. All the while U.S. soldiers blithely patrol the streets in Humvees, and walk around patrolling…doing their best to follow orders and trying to restore order in a nation wrought asunder by the Bush War. The Iraq mess has been going on now for 1411 days, and our part in WW II only lasted 1345 days. In 1345 days we beat the Japs and Jerrys, and in 1411 days, we can’t win the Bush War. How sad. So far it has cost $500 billion off budget unaccounted for dollars, and over 3,000 American lives. America has lost in many ways by over-extending its armed forces and inflating its currency. Inflating it so much, that the nations who buy our debt to keep us afloat, are now having second thoughts about investing in US paper. They weren’t squeamish before Iraq. There is no sane reason for us to be in either Afghanistan or Iraq. Guerillas are on both places, killing us and their fellow countrymen. We don’t know how to fight guerillas is seems…if there is a way. When a soldier doesn’t look like a soldier, or act like one, it’s difficult to identify and fight him. It may well be impossible to fight a guerilla war, at least with conventional weapons and tactics. I’m no general, nor military expert, but it seems to me that fighting guerillas any place, is a hopeless, costly, frustrating affair, in which we shouldn’t be involved.
I say again, get out now, apologize, pay for damages, let them solve their own problems, fight it out, and may the best team win. It is our presence which has caused so much outrage among the Iraqis, both Shihis and Sunnis, as they and their officials have said over and over again. Remove the source of irritation and the wound may heal. Why haven’t the wise buffoons in D.C. suggested getting out now, as a solution. Removing the source of irritation would have to be beneficial. Pull out of both Afghanistan and Iraq. The Russians left Afghanistan, and gave it up as hopeless. They discovered that Muslims love to kill non-Muslims. The Ruskies found that the Muslims are enemies of all infidels. We haven’t learned that as of now. The French left Vietnam, and found it hopeless in 1954. LBJ thought otherwise, at a cost of hundreds of billions and 59,000 American lives. The number of deaths don’t begin to count the millions of injured and mentally disabled in all wars. It really is time to change the Constitution so that the “Commander in Chief,” term is eliminated. One man single handedly destroying a nation, as Bush is doing, needs to be stopped.
On another subject, people who buy gold and silver are essentially a bit paranoid, and I am too. We should be! That’s why the receipt you get, has only your name on it. There’s not even a place for an address. That’s why I have no records on any computer. That’s why most of my clients make their checks payable to Don Stott. They don’t want the word “gold” on their checks. Does your supplier do that? There are advantages to being a one man show.
