The usual ’catch phrase’ about Iraq is, “We are making progress.” Well, here’s the ’progress,’ as I see it. We unconstitutionally invade a nation, hang its ruler, fire everyone, allow priceless artifacts of its wonderful museum to be stolen, destroy the infrastructure, kill and destroy millions innocents, homes and businesses, cause millions to flee for their lives, make Iraqis who used to live peacefully together (Sunnis and Shiites) hate each other, and begin a sectarian civil war. Destroy a nation, in other words, and now debate as to whether our invasion and destruction is making ’progress.’ As I have said over and over again, we should leave, apologize, pay for damages, and hope they might eventually forgive us. We did about the same thing in Guatemala, and are dong it in Afghanistan currently. MYOB should be our policy, meaning mind your own business. We should bring all troops home, cede our overseas bases to their respective nations, become NEUTRAL, and never again give any advice or help to anyone at any time, nor sell them weapons. Let ’em make their own guns, planes, and bombs if they want them.
This will never happen, as it would destroy the military-industrial complex. It’s and arms plus a few other trinkets which are about all that is made in America any more. All the returning soldiers would find no jobs, as we don’t make anything any more, and even when I call about a mistake in my Citibank credit card, I am connected to a thickly accented man in India. I cut up that card. The factories are gone, as are the jobs. We could station all the returning troops on the Mexican border with orders to shoot to kill, which would occupy them for a while. Perhaps if the Chinese make enough goofs and kill enough dogs and cats, or kill a few innocents with defective tires, a couple of factories would re-open here, but it’s doubtful, as Americans won’t work for fifty cents an hour with no benefits.
It is all so absurd and criminal. War, that is. We should have never gotten into WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq and Afghanistan. Think of the thousands of Americans killed, hundreds of millions of others butchered, and the trillions of paper dollars printed for these atrocities, which has debased the currency. Will Iran be next? WW II was lost by Hitler when he invaded Russia, but didn’t realize it. The Japs lost it at the battle of Midway, but didn’t realize it. Have we gotten into a mess we can’t get out of in Iraq, but don’t realize it? We were gotten into WW II by FDR, probably to get us out of the depression. Korea had nothing to do with us, but caused Truman to quit. LBJ quit because of his gross errors in Vietnam. Neither Vietnam, Iraq, nor Afghanistan have anything to do with us. The French gave up on Vietnam and left with their tails between their legs in 1954, and the Ruskies gave up on Afghanistan and left the same way. The D.C. Gang isn’t smart, and we are the constant victims of their antics. Not just innocent soldiers maimed and killed, but the huge cost in printing press dollars, which tax us all by lowering their value. The world seems to hate us more as each day passes. The Brits have pulled out 25,000 of their 30,000 troops from Iraq, and the Aussies have about had enough also, as have most of our so called “allies.” Sunday, General Jones said on Meet The Press, that it will take five years to make Iraq peaceful, and then only if certain things happen. Meanwhile, the D.C. Gang is building the largest, most expensive “embassy” in history in Iraq, complete with shopping, theatres, swimming, gyms, luxury residences, and huge, thick walls. The constant lowering of dollar values, places us all in higher income brackets so we can get screwed by the IRS for additional taxes, even though our lifestyle goes lower.
It is difficult to realize how much we all suffer at the hands of the D.C. Gang. Not just the debasement of our currency, but the failure to keep illegals out, wearing out the armed forces, lying about everything from 9/11, JFK’s assassination, inflation, crime statistics, and for that matter statistics of all kinds. Now they have stopped publishing the M3 figures, because it would make their dollars look so bad. The D.C. Gang’s Plunge Protection Team (PPT) buys stocks to prop up the failing stock market, fails to make the COMEX obey the rules and law, and manipulates just about everything. Lies by the thousands pour out of D.C. on a daily basis, on every subject concerning the utter failure of the current government and Presidency. We have a President who can’t speak a distinct sentence and is the butt of David Letteman’s and Jay Leno’s, routines five nights a week. Never in our history, as far as I can remember, has there ever been a President who is so totally inept, and maybe even downright stupid, with a capital S. Yet, he controls the armed forces, (Commander in Chief), and the Democrats can’t get enough votes to over-ride his inane mistakes and goofs. Far too many Republicans go along with this imbecile, rather than joining the nation, who wants this war stopped NOW.
What can you and I do about it? Nothing. Many believe that there will be a severe “happening” in America sometime in the next week or two, and it may be true, but I for one, can’t predict the immediate future. Maybe this will be another “Y2K” when everyone thought the world would end. It didn’t. We thought it would all fall apart when Jimmy Carter was President. Interest rates were 21%, OPEC was seeing to it that we had no oil, we were paying to get rid of the Panama Canal, and the hostages were penned up in Iran. It didn’t end then. Many thought Armageddon was at hand when WW II started, and it wasn’t. Throughout history, there have been various natural or man-made catastrophes, but we’re still here. I’m not storing food. I live three blocks from a super market, and if something serious happens, I’ll rush down there and empty the shelves. I’ve got gold, silver, no debts, and lots of guns, plus live in a small town. That’s security enough for me. I will admit that Bush seems to need another 9/11 type of thing to perhaps declare martial law, or at least to pointlessly invade something. All I can think of to do, I am doing, and that is protect myself as I have mentioned. You do as you see fit.
