Downfall of America Part Five

Taxes, taxes, taxes, is mostly what we pay.
From state, local, property, FICA, federal
income, utility, stock transfer,utilities,
telephone, fuel, etc., taxes consume over
50% of the ordinary income, and far more of
a higher one.  Were the total truth be known,
if the chain of taxes on all labor, property,
fuels, transport, distribution, and materials
of everything made, used, grown and mined
were figured, we may be paying as much as 95%
in taxes. Quite obviously also, if our wealth
is stolen from us, we are not going to be a
productive people, because we have no surplus
funds to invest, save, or build new enterprises.
I’d just like you to imagine what taxes were
levied during FDR’s time. A friend of mine, at
lunch last week, told me that his father, a
very wealthy man, had federal income taxes of
91%, plus NY State and local taxes of over
12%, and no matter how much he made, he lost
money. This was during FDR’s 3rd term.  FDR’s
taxes, many of which are still in existence,
and for what reason, no one seems to know,
still hamper our lives and economy.

On October 3, 1942, FDR issued an executive order
which basically said that no one’s income after
taxes was to be more than $25,000. Today, that
would be equal to a lot of money, but the idea that
government could set someone’s income? I am sure
mass murderer Joe Stalin, must have had a grin on
his face.  High taxes made it virtually impossible
to recover from the depression. Beginning June
9th,1943, not only were Social Security taxes
withheld from paychecks, but also federal income
taxes…supposedly as an ’emergency measure during
WW II,’ but of course they continue.  This required
hiring an additional 11,000 IRS revenue agents, all
paid by taxpayer money, and all decreasing the buck’s
value. (We’ll get to WWII Friday!).

On May 18, 1933, the Tennessee Valley Authority Act
was signed into law by FDR.  By eminent domain, the
TVA seized all privately owned utility companies,
plus thousands of acres of land.  Its object was
to produce power, sell it, and make a profit, plus
“providing a designed and planned social order” for
the area.  TVA dams were small, slow to be built,
and were of very small output.  It did nothing to
help the depression, slowed normal economic growth,
and was another FDR federal boondoggle, which haunts
us today. TVA was supposed to control flooding, but
it only did this mostly for Chattanooga, which could
have controlled its own flooding with its own money.
15,654 people were forced from their homes to build
TVA’s small dams, which produced little electricity
and at a great loss for the federal government. In
contrast, the 1938 Bonneville and 1941 Grand Coulee
dams, both built with private capital and still in
use, have provided huge amounts of electricity and
at no cost to the taxpayer.  TVA has accumulated
$29 billion in debt, and is exempt from 130 federal
laws, plus hundreds of laws in states where it
operates.  It is immune from liability lawsuits for
any wrongful acts it may commit, and many
environmentalists consider TVA to be the most
notorious of polluters.

FDR’s Housing Act of 1937, built America’s first
public housing, and America hasn’t been the same
since.  Public housing, wherever it has been built,
has been not only a crime infested place, but a
neighborhood destroyer, not to mention the damage it
has caused to the human mind and life style.  When I
lived in Philadelphia, I built from scratch, a chain
of ten ice cream stores, owning all the buildings in
which they were located.  My #7 store, was in a
section called “East Falls.”  It was a nice, white,
middle to low income section, close by the river,
but up the road was a huge public housing project,
which essentially destroyed the neighborhood. The
crime in that place was unbelievable.  Elevators
were always broken, residents and visitors broke or
stole anything not bolted down, and delighted in
urinating on stairs and down elevator shafts.
Murders and crime were rampant, and graffiti was
everywhere.  Any violence, robberies, and mayhem was
always caused by resident of that project.  Yes,
they were all black.  It has since been torn down,
and East Falls I understand, has returned to a nice
place to live.  Once the first public housing unit
was built, thousands followed.  It would have been
impossible for this not to happen, because FDR had
decided to ’help’ everyone with their their own
money he had stolen from them with taxes, and
without their permission or regard to the damage it
had to cause.  When you give someone something for
nothing, or without work or effort, you destroy
them.  Freebies given by politicians, is sure to
cause lots of votes for the freebie-giving-party,
namely the Democrats and FDR.
With public housing, obviously a lot of votes for
the Democrats were, and still are concentrated.
People who live in public housing, are defeating the
market and self destructing themselves and their
surroundings.  When a person doesn’t pay their own
way, they lose self respect, become lazy, crime
oriented, and either consciously or unconsciously
discover that they can live without working, or live
on a government tab.  When, in addition, they are
subsidized for their illegitimate babies, paid for
not working, which is still universal in large
cities with public housing, cities as well as their
inhabitants are destroyed, threatened, forced to
move, tax bases lost, law enforcement increased, and
crime of all sorts and degrees becomes common.
Public Housing, FDR’s most astonishing and obviously
disgusting initiative, has doomed American cities,
and created an underclass, which didn’t exist before
public housing.
There is no paragraph, sentence, or volume, which
can adequately explain the enormous damage caused by
public housing and welfare.  When lazy, worthless
people are paid for illegitimacy, given a place to
live, copulate, and watch mindless TV all day, their
offspring will follow the course of their mothers,
and be worthless also.  The human chain of events,
caused by FDR’s public housing and welfare schemes,
is impossible to estimate, but it has to be in the
trillions of dollars, with no end in sight.  There
was no welfare before FDR, no public housing, no
Social Security, and little crime.  The crime
fostered by prohibition, was far different than
crime continually caused by the American underclass.
The crime and human degradation seems to have
concentrated itself on the negro. Yesterday, on Fox
News, there were five separate news items of
violent, hideous crimes committed by blacks.
(Whoever invented the term ’blacks’ for negroes
should be put away and punished, because it is not
only degrading, but untrue). It is too bad that
negroes have succumbed to the laziness and human
degradation which FDR’s welfare and public housing
have offered, because it turned America into a
racist state, and not without reason.

When I was 14, my Dad bought a lovely 40 acre
farm in Southern Md., and an adjacent farm was
owned by Walter Jones, a colored man who worked
hard, raised his kids well and I played with his
kids constantly, without any racial feelings or
overtones of any kind.  My Dad hired coloreds
at his drug store and there were never any
racist feelings on my part till I moved to
Philly in 1962 and saw North Philadelphia, and
the public housing projects. After being mugged
and left for dead at 3 PM by three black teenage
animals, having all my white neighborhood stores
robbed by blacks, etc. I became a racist, and
have since, tried to eliminate my prejudice.
All this current degradation, destruction, crime,
abandoned and ruined neighborhoods, and mayhem,
would be beyond the imaginings of a generation
who passed away and lived before FDR’s time, if
they were resurrected. America has been ruined
by FDR, his policies, laws, bureaucrats, taxes,
institutions, and war.
