As government grew, thanks to the influx of dollars through the income tax, it became an entity all its own, with absolutely no regard or consideration of its subjects or their wishes. It then did, and still does, as it damned well pleases, and most of what it does, is at orders or influence of the largest contributors to its elected officials. Examples are not difficult to find.
1. Did the electorate vote to get America into World War One?
2. Did the electorate vote to get America into World War Two?
3. Did the electorate vote to get America into Korea?
4. Did the electorate vote to get America into Vietnam?
5. Did the electorate vote to get America into Iraq?
6. Did the electorate vote to get America into Afghanistan?
7. Did the electorate vote to get America into the United Nations?
8. Did the electorate vote to get America into the welfare state, which has created the under-class and destroyed our cities, schools, and lifestyles?
9. Did the electorate vote the income tax into existence, the Federal Reserve, dollar debasement, and virtual ignoring of the Constitution and all its restraints?
Could government have gotten out of control, literally, as it now has, if it hadn’t gotten the dollars to finance itself? It started with the income tax, but proceeded to ever higher taxes for ever more of the populace, ordering the turning in of gold to back more dollars to further enlarge itself, placing taxes on fuels, telephone calls, real estate transactions, electricity, travel, and hundreds of items used by everyone, every day. Now, it can print all it needs, and we all pay with inflation, an unavoidable, universal tax. A bit over 60 years ago, Professor Harry Elmer Brown said, “The great majority of Americans today have known only a world ravaged by war, depressions, international intrigue and meddling, the encroachments of the police state, vast debts, crushing taxation, and the control of public opinion by ruthless propaganda.”
I really have no idea of what America has gotten itself into with the last election, which has Barak Obama ready to take office. We will see, but the plain fact is that the Supreme Court has decided to once again ignore the Constitution by allowing a person not born in this nation, nor a citizen, to become its President. The very office of the President of the United States of America, has gotten way past what the Constitution authorizes. The Constitution gives the President the following powers: Commander in Chief, (after a war has been declared by the Congress), make treaties ( the Congress must approve them), fill vacancies of judgeships, ambassadors, consuls, postmasters, and the like, and give a State of the Union speech ’from time to time,’ and that’s it! Check for yourself at Article Two of the Constitution. There are no provisions in the Constitution for a ’cabinet’, ’executive orders,’ or any of the numerous powers the Presidents have seen to assume over the past hundred years. It’s all UNCONSTITUTIONAL, but we have been so propagandized, that we assume it’s all legal and Constitutional, and it is not.
The D.C. Gang, as I call them, are composed of 435 elected officials, and three or four times that amount of lobbyists, who pander to and bribe the 435, to get their favorite bills passed which gives handouts to their constituencies, who pay them royally. Under Thomas Jefferson, the State Department had but SEVEN employees, and the world hasn’t gotten any bigger since Mr. Jefferson’s time.
Currently, without voter approval, and in spite of overwhelming voter disapproval, the D.C. Gang has printed a trillion dollars, and given them to various banks and other entities who stupidly got themselves into their various messes, and we, the public, will pay through the nose with hyper-inflation. Bureaucracies sprout up like flowers in spring, more thousands are hired to man them, and the public’s lifestyle gets crushed another notch. A “Car Czar?” Is it possible that another revolution could take place in the future? We revolted against Mother England, when our taxes were far lower than they are now. A fraction of what they are now! The brave colonists decided that it had reached the breaking point, and they revolted.
It is doubtful that a revolution will happen again, because the populace is so stupid, ill-educated, and brain numbed by TV and public schooling, that they are 95% unable to decipher even the most basic goings on in the world or America. To quote Professor Henry Higgins, “Why is thinking never even tried? Straightening up their hair is all they ever do. Why don’t they straighten up the mess that’s inside?” As far as I’m concerned, all we can do is protect ourselves, because political action and voting for a national office is pointless. I doubt that I’ll ever do it again. Ron Paul illustrated that very well, as did Barry Goldwater and Ross Perot. Obviously, no column on Thursday, as it’s New Years Day. I wish you all out there a most prosperous and happy New Year. Closed Friday too.
We are having a completely new web site designed, which should make it ever so easy to understand. The current one’s been around for well over 10 years, and with the scarcity of product, the new web site will have listed only what we currently have in stock, plus other features which I think you’ll like.
