There is another type of capital, which can make or break a nation, and for that matter, a civilization. That would be human capital. Let’s start with a quote from Dr. Adrian Rogers, who lived from 1931 to 2005.
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person received without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
What the world has arrived at, is that all must be cared for, and no one left behind, whether it be a school child, or a lazy, worthless, sodden, drunk. Murderers must be cared for in a hospital after a cop shoots them, before they go to trial, and the poor, sick, and worthless, must be fed, housed, and cared for without exception. No one can be refused at an emergency room, and it seems that the poor are virtually worshipped by the liberal do-gooders, without a thought as to what it is doing to their nation and civilization. Conservatives have also fallen into the trap of caring for one and all, regardless of cost. As far as emergency rooms, consider this: Suppose a grocery store or filling station couldn’t refuse anyone? Suppose a plumber, electrician or mechanic couldn’t refuse anyone? Is it any wonder that hospitals by the dozen are going bankrupt, thanks to the welfare system which pervades our every day and hour?
Currently, three trillion printing press dollars have been literally flushed down the drain, to bail out banks, insurance companies, crooked mortgage brokers, and foolish people. You don’t want to pay your neighbor’s mortgage? Shame on you, according to the D.C. Gang. No one is responsible for their actions in the current time frame, it seems. No matter how stupid, evil, poor, sick, or worthless one may be, government will be sure to pay, help, or in some way make the road smooth. Taxes are on everything we eat, drive, watch, listen to, sleep in, talk on, drink, or in some way use to stay alive. There are no exceptions. Did we approve of all the taxes? Not a single one. As J.B. Colbert said 300 years ago, “The art of taxation consists in so plucking the goose as to obtain the largest amount of feathers with the least possible amount of hissing.” On the Glen Beck show yesterday, he had the head of the U.S. Communist Party as a guest, and he liked the Obama programs.
What type of human capital has resulted from universal taxation and welfare? Maybe a look at the animal kingdom would be helpful. As opposed to humans, animals have no welfare system outside their own individual families. Mother birds, penguins, lions, and all other animals, and even insects I assume, do care for their offspring. When they are grown, the mother eagle pushes her little eaglet out of the nest, and flies down with it to be sure it flies. If it doesn’t make it, she catches it and takes him back so it can try again. Then, it is on its own, come sink or swim. I have no problem with parents raising their kids to do well, and those who raise their kids poorly, will see the results when they reach adulthood. Animals have not self destructed, as has the human race. The weak, sick, or injured, are usually eaten by larger animals, or left to die. Not supporting the weak, sick, or malformed, makes the animal kingdom strong. Animals grow strong by foraging for food, building nests, and fighting off predators.
Humans on the dole, become worthless. Their offspring even more so. America, and for that matter the world, has probably a third of its population, living off the other two thirds, and the percentages grow more lopsided each day. As much as I despise Abe Lincoln, he did say once, that, “You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.” It is, according to Democratic theory, smart to tax the rich, and give it to the poor, because it ’helps’ them. An unearned gift is perhaps the most corrupting thing that can be done. Want a meal? Chop some wood for the stove. Want some money? Shovel the sidewalk, cut my grass, or paint my fence. It always was that way till 75 years ago, when FDR and his acolytes began the welfare system. Welfare is a weakening, spoiling thing, which causes humans to become lazy and worthless.
Our cities have become rubble in far too many sections, because of human trash capital. Crime has escalated to the extent that streets are unsafe. Abandoned houses and cars litter the neighborhoods of the welfare class, and like cockroaches, they spoil everything they touch. “Free” public schools have gone the way of all unearned handouts, and now educate so poorly, that a weekly watching of Jay Leno’s “Jaywalking,” is shocking, but typical. High school ’graduates’ who cannot read a timetable or tell time on a clock with hands, is far too common. There is a 14 year old boy who brought the house down with his speech before the conservative meeting last week. He was asked what school he went to and he said “I’m home schooled.” Naturally.
The lack of common sense and basic logic, has made the majority happy with their dollars as they sink into oblivion, and give hand outs to urchins and beggars. They’ll vote for Democrats who promise to take their money and give it away or dilute it into worthlessness. When a Ron Paul runs for office, they think he is a fool for not wanting to print endless dollars, get out of wars, and cease handouts. Our world is polluted with the worthless, begging, lazy, welfare recipients, whose offspring many times become criminals. Our human capital is being destroyed in the name of ’kindness,’ or ’care.’ Most think that taxing the productive sector is just fine, as “they have too much.” Charity is far different than welfare. Charity is volunteerism, and welfare is compulsory taking from producers and giving it to the non-producers at the whim of a bureaucrat or legislator. The welfare state has destroyed America.
It is the strong and smart who become wealthy, and their kids usually turn out the same. It is the rich and smart, who give the jobs and build the businesses which employ and give jobs to the working class who work and support a family. If you tax the rich, they may say to themselves, as the above quote said, “The hell with it. I’ll just retire and not fulfill my dreams of a business or work giving project.” When a rich man has a swimming pool or mansion built, it provides work for craftsmen and laborers. When a rich man buys a Cadillac or has a chauffeur, it provides jobs for the builders of cars and drivers of limos. It is impossible for a rich man or family to spend their money, without benefitting someone else who provides, sells, or builds what the rich buy. Can’t you see that when jobs are sent overseas, the capital and work ethic goes with them? When people spend the money they earn, they provide jobs. If they don’t spend it but save it, it gives banks funds to loan. The rich should not be taxed at all, nor should anyone else. Taxes destroy initiative. When the worthless spend welfare checks or use food stamps, they provide work for the bureaucracy, and harm the productive sector of society by ruining their dollar value.
We then come to the age old problem of the Democrats hating the rich. I love the rich. If you took everyone’s money and re-distributed it evenly, within ten years, it would be back in the same hands. There’ll always be classes. There’ll always be the poor, rich, middle class, and working class. The welfare state gives us the underclass, which is eating us alive. Henry Ford didn’t hand out money to beggars. He built huge factories and hired hundreds of thousands. He doubled his workers wages, which allowed them to buy his cars, and prosperity knew no limits. Andrew Carnegie built steel mills which employed thousands, Built Carnegie libraries and donated 6,000 pipe organs to churches. He didn’t give money to beggars. Damn! Why can’t people see what is so obvious? Rich people are wonderful.
No, I don’t want to kill the worthless. I just don’t want them supported, fed, and housed at taxpayer expense. Would a lot of them die, if cut off from handouts? Naturally, but of what value are they anyway? I’m as opposed to murder as I am to welfare. How can the human race stay strong and robust, if we don’t act like the animal kingdom? We can’t and aren’t. The human race is declining in intelligence, the work ethic, and all the basic things we need to be productive, prosperous, and happy. Governments are destroying the productive class and supporting the non productive classes, which reproduce like barnyard animals. “Whatever you tax, you get less of, and whatever you subsidize, you get more of.” I get so weary of watching those commercials on the boob tube urging us to send a few dollars a month to ’save’ some starving child in Africa. ’Save’ it, and it is already brain damaged from hunger probably. It has no parents, home, education, and if it is ’saved,’ it will surely reproduce more of its kind, and the world will have millions more worthless humans. I would no more send a dime to those outfits, than buy a share of stock or open a savings account.
All we can do is protect ourselves, our family, and friends. That is true charity. Save with real money, not unbacked scrip. Send a few bucks a month to your church, a missionary, or family member. Not to some TV hawker professing to feed the poor or starving. Use your head, not your emotions. Now you ask, what is the solution to the welfare state? There is none. Once it gets started, it can never stop, but grow larger like a cancer. I just thought you wanted to know about it. Each year there are fewer producers and more non-producers. Each year, currencies become weaker, and governments grow larger and more destructive of their subjects. Will states secede? Will there be mass revolting? I have no idea, but you’ll be far safer out of the big cities. (I’ve got to stop writing this drivel. Someone’s going to arrest me for being a terrorist or seditionist)
