Of all the ruining things ever invented by man, and used in a perverted way, the word “empathy,” takes first place with me. How many spoilt, ruined kids are there, who turn out terribly, because stupid parents had ’empathy’ when the little creeps begged for something, didn’t want to clean their room, or obey? How many teen age tyrants are there who race cars, get drunk, pregnant, or in some other way act like terrorists because of their parents’ misplaced ’empathy,’ when they should have disciplined? How many miscreants and criminals are there in the world, who became that way because of a lack of parental discipline? The foolish parents had ’empathy’ for all their little vermin’s wishes, rather than whacking them and making them obey and walk the straight and narrow? This is only a teensy fraction of what misplaced empathy has gotten us.
It started, almost, with FDR and all of his empathetic innovations. ’Oh the poor people who have no place to live. Let’s build them public housing and let them live in them virtually rent free, so they will have an easier life.’ Or, ’Oh those poor old people. Let’s force them to save so their old age will be comfortable. Let’s remove the ability to care for themselves. We’ll call it ’Social Security.’ That was the beginning, and like all ’programs,’ they always increase, grow uncontrolled, and with ever increasing costs and government employees to dispense them. Where did the public housing dwellers live before? They fared for themselves, paid their way, and worked for what they had. How did these Social Security recipients ever live before that was placed in the law books? They worked, saved, and acted responsibly, that’s how. Like all empathetic programs by government, they have the absolute power to destroy the minds and capabilities of the human mind and body. When a person doesn’t have to work for what they receive, be they spoilt kids or adults partaking at the welfare trough, these people are weakened permanently, and government will grow unchecked.
’Oh those poor people who need medical care. Let’s let government pay for it so they will be healthy.’ That ruined the medical profession. Every single facet of our collective lives has been destroyed by government. Be it compulsory helmets when riding a motorcycle, forced use of seat belts, control of our food, health, medicine, education, and life itself, government has spawned millions of inept humanoids, who know not much other than reproducing more of their kind, watching TV, and sucking at the teat of the local ’program’ or handout, designed to numb the brain and increase lack of thought and responsibility.
Before public schools, Americans were far better educated than they are now, and at no cost to the taxpayers. If this were not so, how come home schooled kids are far superior to public schooled kids? Ask anyone who attended a one room schoolhouse, if they were better educated than all the public school ’graduates’ are today. Public schools gobble up tax dollars and provide ever lower education as each year passes. So much so, that Christian and other private and semi-private schools are on the rise and are used by concerned, intelligent parents. Public schools are among the first of government ’empathies’ which were misplaced, and are now in their final stages, and especially in large cities.
Examples of empathy gone awry are multitudinous, and are visible in every thing we see and do. Whatever happened to capital punishment? ’It is so cruel to kill rapists and murders. Let’s give them life in jail.’ ’Let’s be empathetic,’ makes me ill. The latest, of course, may be the final peg driven into the heart of our one time freedoms. Throughout history, there have been economic cycles which self corrected under our free system. There have been wise businessmen and foolish businessmen, and they have always paid the price for their lack of skills. Now, everyone pays with hyper-inflation. The two which were brought on by government, and which was, and this time is cataclysmic, are the two ’great depressions.’ One beginning in 1929, and the second, having begun at the end of the George Bush Presidency. Had Bush left everything alone, and not begun the inane ’TARP” bailout, which Republicans and Democrats rushed to D.C. to vote ’yes’ on, including John McCain, the depression might be over by now, with lots of failed businesses and corporations, which has occurred in every single business cycle in history, but with microscopic levels. 95% of Americans were against the bailouts, but Congress totally ignored them.
The empathy now, has taken us straight to hyper-inflation and total government. Government now will own GM, and along with the unions, will undoubtedly finish its destruction or run it at huge losses for decades. $20 billion so far for GM, and another $30 billion to come, plus government operation? How could a scenario be painted any worse? Bailouts in the name of empathy, has given government control over insurance, banks, and about every facet of our life; directly or indirectly. The dollar is toast, and the stock market will soon be, if the PPT stops buying. America is so full of contradictions today, that it is almost incomprehensible to a logical mind. The stock market goes up while GM goes bankrupt, shuts over a dozen factories and gives pink slips to maybe 25,000? The stock market goes up, while dozens of shopping centers and malls are empty and in foreclosure? The stock market goes up, while over 600,000 more apply for unemployment each week, and there are thousands of empty, foreclosed homes in California, Nevada and Florida? There are thousands of empty stores in America, plus bankrupt food and restaurant chains, and the stock market goes up? And there isn’t something awfully fishy here?
Every single thing which is wrong with America today, be it crime, the great uneducated, slums, poverty, wrecked cities, god-awful pointless wars, inflation, and lies by the millions emanating from D.C., all are the responsibility of the Federal Government, which, in direct contradiction to our Constitution, has done things not allowed by that sacred document. Most of its actions, which have dragged the citizens into death and poverty, have happened with the excuse of ’empathy.’ Empathy for the poor Koreans, Vietnamese, Iraqis, or Afghans. Empathy for poor people who would become poor lazy people. Empathy for everyone who should have been made to fare for themselves or die trying. They should have been allowed to die trying, and if they had, America would still have whole cities and dollars. If those incapable of saving or caring for themselves, had been allowed to fail, our America would still be the land of the free and home of the brave. If those who were not allowed to fail, had been, and were today allowed to fail, we would still be the king of the world. We would be out-inventing, out-producing, out-manufacturing, and out-growing every nation on earth. Without misplaced ’empathy,’ America would be so full of energy and prosperity, that rather than owing everyone and witnessing a collapsing currency, we would be ’One Nation, Under God,’ and neutral.
Is there a way to stop this seeming self immolation? It’s so easy to start empathetic giveaway ’programs,’ such as public schools, Social Security, Medicare, public housing, and welfare of a thousand different varieties. Congress loves to vote them in, as it gloms votes. But it is impossible to take them away, without losing elections. People love not having to work, pay rent, educate their kids, and think about retirement. Taking all this junk away is impossible, and we all know it. Maybe there should be ’none of the above” on all ballots, but that is only a dream. The plain fact is that Americans are so uneducated and unable to think, that they will always vote for the candidate promising the most largess from the public treasury, with the Ron Pauls being left in the dust. The utter failure of Ron Paul, in spite of his utter logic and reasonableness, is evidence enough of a failed society. All we can do it protect ourselves, as I have said many times. Leave America for some other place? Where in the world would you go? I can think of none that I would want to go to, but I repeat myself again. Get out of the big cities, dollars, and debt. Protect yourself.
