This was sent to me by Susan, and it is supposed to be from the cartoon character “Maxine,” who I can’t stand, but the following I wholeheartedly agree with, so I pass it along to you with a few changed and omissions. The column I was going to write will have to wait!
“I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week, we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then, the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table and next to the barbeque. Then came the poop. It was everywhere. Some of the birds began to turn mean. They would dive bomb me and peck at me, even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. Other birds would sit on the feeder and squawk at all hours of the day, demanding that I fill it when it got low, or driving off other birds who were in their way.
“I finally couldn’t even sit on my own porch, because of the noise and mess. I took the feeder down, and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up the poop, took down the nests, and presto! My porch and back yard were as they used to be. Quiet, serene, and peaceful. No bird was demanding to have a free meal. No protests, outrages, or demanding something for nothing. Their bird brains aren’t that sophisticated, I guess. They’re looking elsewhere.
“Now let’s see. Government gives out free food, education, and medical care, plus subsidized housing, and allows anyone born here to automatically be a citizen. This causes illegals by the millions to sneak across our borders, which our government doesn’t protect or guard. Suddenly, our taxes go up to pay for the free services. “Section Eight” welfare virtually gives free rent to those who are like the birds…free loaders, and which like the birds, destroy the peace and quiet of neighborhoods. One has to wait six hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor, and your child’s second grade class is behind other schools, because over half of the class doesn’t speak English.
“Corn Flakes now come in bi-lingual boxes, we have to ’press one for English,’ and people waving Mexican flags and flying them above ’Old Glory,’ are protesting, squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights, handouts, and welfare…just like the free loading birds I got rid of, but I can’t figure out how to get rid of these pests who are bankrupting us. Maybe it’s time to take down the American, Congressionally supported and ordained, bird feeders.” Thanks Susan.
When 535 morons, plus a Constitutionally prohibited ’president,’ can destroy a nation of over 300 million basically hard working, honest, loyal Americans, why can’t we simply throw the bums out and take our country back? How can we educate the 300 million as to what’s happening to them? How to let them know that last year, the cost of interest alone on the $13 trillion debt was $412 billion, ($1375 per person), and that already through May of this year it was $214 billion? I have no idea, but am open to suggestions!
I wonder if Obama has read the 1,018 pages of the bill he spends so much time and effort to promote? At last night’s news conference and speech, he never answered a question explicitly, but gave vague, non-answers. We’ve simply got to stop this health care bill as well as cap and trade. Our future is at stake.
