This is thanks to Jack S. Who forwarded it to me from Bill S. Who its original author is, I do not know, but it hits the spot! (I did a bit of editing).
(1) The US Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right. It’s broke.
(2) Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right. It’s broke.
(3) Fanny Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right. It’s broke.
(4) The LBJ “War on Poverty” started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right. $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to ’the poor,’ and they’re still poor. It hasn’t worked, and our entire nation is broke.
(5) Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You’ve had 44 years to get it in the black, and they’re both broke.
(6) Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right. It’s broke.
(7) Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the ’Stimulus,’ and The Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009. None show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a way to screw the American taxpayer.
(8) ’Cash For Clunkers’ was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009. It took good, dependable cars, which were the best many could afford, destroyed them, and replaced them with high priced, less affordable, mostly Japanese cars. Many of the profits went to Tokyo, and U.S. taxpayers took a $3 billion hit for Congress’ generosity. Or was it Obama’s since the Congress didn’t vote for it?
(9) A perfect 100% failure. The “services” which have been thrust down our collective throats, none of which we had opportunity to vote for, are continuing to fail and stay broke, sopping up paper dollars. And you want us to entrust you with 18% of our GDP and allow you to run our health care system? You must be nuts!
Obama’s speech last night, once again proved that his deep voice and teleprompters work well. However it’s the same old song. If he and his Democrats have their way, it’ll be more taxes, more bureaucracy, more socialism, bordering on outright communism, bankrupt insurance companies, poor care, less freedom, and another nail driven into the American coffin. Did you catch the one liner which said that he was going to tax the insurance companies? None of the commentators seemed to have caught it, or am I mistaken? I’m half way through Michelle Maklin’s “Culture of Corruption,” and Obama’s hires aren’t of the highest caliber, to put it mildly.
In a recent trip further West, we stayed in Ely Nevada for a couple of nights, to savor America’s most original, and untouched railroad, the Nevada Northern. The Nevada Northern was built in 1906 to haul the massive copper deposits in the area, and all the buildings, trackage, and locomotives are totally original. Wonderful place to visit. All around the town, were huge signs which said “DO NOT VOTE FOR REID” Latest polls show that Harry Reid’s popularity is 32%, and he will lose the next election. Good riddance of at least one of the legislative felons. Isn’t there some way to get Speaker Nancy to be defeated in 2010 also?
Here’s a neat little poem, also forwarded to me.
“Tax his tractor, tax his mule. Teach him taxes are the rule. Tax his work, tax his pay. He works for peanuts anyway. Tax his cow, tax his goat, tax his pants, tax his coat. Tax his ties, tax his shirt, tax his work, tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco, tax his drink, tax him if he tries to think. Tax his cigars, tax his beers, and if he cries, tax his tears. Tax his car, tax his gas, and find other ways to tax his ass. Tax all he has, then let him know, that you won’t be done till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers, tax him more. Tax him till he’s good and sore, then tax his coffin, tax his grave, and tax the sod in which he’s laid. Put these words upon his tomb: Taxes drove me to my doom. When he’s gone, don’t relax. It’s time to apply the inheritance tax.”
The following taxes didn’t exist a hundred years ago, but the evilness of politicians has placed all of them on us without our permission or vote of approval. To say that Americans are being strangled, is a mild understatement. These are just some of those taxes:
Accounts receivable, building permit, CDL, driver’s license, cigarette, corporate, dog license, excise, federal income, federal unemployment, fishing license, food license, fuel permit, gasoline, gross receipts, hunting license, inheritance, inventory, IRS interest and penalties, liquor, luxury, marriage license, Medicare, personal property, property, real estate, service charges, social security, road usage, sales, recreational vehicle, school, state income, state unemployment, telephone exercise, telephone federal universal service, fees, charges, and surcharge taxes by the hundreds probably, including registering all vehicles, boats, planes, and motorcycles. Utility, well permit, workers comp., watercraft registration, and the list is not complete.
A hundred years ago, our nation was the most prosperous, wealthiest nation in the world. We had no national debt, the largest middle class in the world, and mom stayed home to raise the kids. We invented more, manufactured more, and exported more, than most of the rest of the world combined. Now, we owe the most, and are so far in debt, that it is un-payable, other than printing press, worthless scrip, since it is over $100,000,000,000. Politicians of both parties have squandered our wealth, prosperity, and happiness. Our gold backed dollars are a faint memory, as is silver coinage. Our inner cities are wrecked, and we have a huge underclass, which never existed a hundred years ago. There was no welfare, public housing, or handouts of any kind, before 1932, when FDR was elected with a huge majority. Obama has been elected with a huge majority, and is following FDR’s footsteps exactly, and seemingly trying to finish the job of total destruction of our once grand nation.
Over one hundred banks have failed so far this year, the FDIC is empty, and the $81 billion given to GM and Chrysler will never be repaid, according to CSNBC. 550,000 more out of work applied for unemployment last week, and the buck continues to fall against the euro. Usually accurate prognosticators, say that by October, the buck may be in free fall, which of course means that metals will go heavenward. Protect yourself, and try to get out of the big cities, because that’s where the riots will occur, with interrupted utilities and overpowered law enforcement…in my opinion anyway.
