A Banana Republic?

On Sunday, Senator Judd (on CNN), said that America was going to turn into a “Banana Republic,” unless the economic situation under Obama changed.  This raises the question:  What is a Banana Republic?  The dictionary definition doesn’t really fit, as a banana republic is usually a Hispanic country with a single crop, and bad economy.  If the dollar collapses and the depression continues, the term ’Banana Republic’ might actually have some substance.  I subscribe to the bi-weekly newspaper called “The International Forecaster,” and in the current issue, on page 14, I quote:  “I see no recovery.  The stock market is topping out:  Foreclosures are at an all time level:  Commercial real estate is in a state of collapse:  Unemployment is setting records, and most major banks are insolvent.  The capper, is the fed is monetizing everything in sight.”  Sounds eerily like the beginnings of a ’Banana Republic,’ doesn’t it?

I really worry about America.  I am especially worried about the 99.9% of Americans, who are saving in, and have saved in…dollars.  History is indeed repeating itself.  How?  Because like the banana republics, Germany in 1924, and you name it, when government spends more than it takes in, (as they always do), it has no other recourse than to print its way out of debt.  Politicians being what they are; a greedy bunch of determined at any cost to stay in office creeps; will just keep on spending.  Republicans have drifted so far away from their origins, as to make it laughable.  If none of them, other than Maine’s traitors, vote for the health care fraud, they still write those earmarks, and vote for more wars, more troops, and more handouts.

When Obama and his Democrat liberals ’stimulate,’ they know of only one way of doing it, and that is following exactly what was done in Germany, Zimbabwe, and other banana republics throughout history.  They print, and printing is good only until hyper-inflation sets in, and then its too late to save ones’ self or nation.  Keynes said that a little bit of inflation is good, and I disagree.  When politicos continue to spend like there is no tomorrow, hyper-inflation has to set in, and it will.  Government has but one method of ’stimulating,’ if you are a Democrat, and that is to print money.  A true Republican or libertarian, would stop the presses, dismantle about half of the federal government, turning Washington D.C. into a ghost town, and bring the troops home from wherever they are around the world.  That would be a good start.  The Japs are sick and tired of our base on Okinawa and they want it out.  America is fighting it.  What does that useless base cost?  Billions a year.

When an individual runs his credit card up to its maximum, with no thought of controlling spending, and no way to pay the bills, calamity is certain to follow.  The only difference between that fool, and the idiots in D.C., is that they are running everyone’s credit card up to the max, and they have no way to pay the bills either, thereby taking the whole nation down with them.  We can do absolutely nothing about it.  Two million patriots in D.C. on 9/12, might have made an impression on some, but it isn’t evident now.  It might be evident next year if enough voters wise up and Republicans take control of the House and Senate.  We will see.  The typical Republican now-a-days, simply isn’t a Republican in the true form.  Republicans are supposed to be for smaller government and balanced budgets, but they aren’t acting that way.

Stott’s Law simply states, “The more of anything there is, the less they will be worth.”  This includes dollars.  This very morning, on NPR, Renee, the co-host, was interviewing David Russell, Economics Editor of the Wall Street Journal.  She was worried about the weak dollar, and asked him, why it was weak.  Russell gave three reasons, none of which had a damned thing to do with it.  The weak dollar is caused by printing the hell out of them, or to be economically correct, ’monetizing the debt.’  ’Monetizing the debt,’ in Joe Six-pack wording, is, ’Spend like crazy and print the dough to pay the bills,’ which is actually stealing from everyone by reducing the value of the buck.   We’re so brainwashed, that no one seems to have the power to think any longer.

Let me quote from DeTocqueville of over a hundred years ago, from his “Democracy in America.”  After having taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp, and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community.   It covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate to rise above the crowd.  The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting.  Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence:  It does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to be nothing better than a flock of timid and industrial animals, of which the government is the shepherd.

America has been dumbed down, especially by its public schools.  The dumbing down in the schools has been carried on by its graduates, to their kids, to their grandkids, who endlessly watch senseless commercial TV, and rarely read a newspaper, much less anything else.  America, like the world, has no concept of economics, which is the backbone of a person’s very existence.  How much is that car?  No, it’s now, “How much are the payments?”  “How much a month to lease it?”  The sad fact is, that all Obama and his stooges will do, is print.  They wouldn’t dream of tightening their respective belts, firing a hundred thousand bureaucrats, declaring victory and bringing everyone home.

That would save the nation!  We then, are 300 million victims.  Our lives have been destroyed by 535 morons and a President, who is an ineligible one.  Correction, make that 534.  Can’t count Ron Paul in that figure.  For goodness sakes, protect yourselves, and tell everyone you know, that the storm clouds have gathered, and they need to shelter themselves!
