I read lot, and read fast. 40-50 books a year. Not novels, but history, railroads, architecture, economics, politics, etc. I love reading! Sarah Palin’s new book, “Going Rogue” is on the best seller lists. It’s a big hit, and I know why.
I liked her instantly when she gave that speech accepting the nomination. That was one of politicians’ greatest speeches. She gave it, even though the teleprompter gave way half way through it. The applause and cheering was seemingly endless, and it was the same everywhere she went. She outdrew McCain in approval, applause, and attendance at her various meets and town halls. Her beating the pants off of Biden at the Vice President debates was uproarious to me. I just loved her as do most Americans who are thinkers, rather than Democratic types who love government. I know, the liberals and democrats are scared stiff of her, and if you read her book, you’ll know why.
Sarah is a real, all American girl. She grew up, daughter of a school teacher, and suffered childhood poverty. Strong parents, strong beliefs, and great upbringing turned her into one superb woman. The book begins at the beginning a her birth. It goes through childhood, love, marriage, children, and her political career, beginning with a seat on the city council of Wasilla Alaska. She did it quite by accident, but proved her independence and honesty pretty quickly, and became mayor. Wasilla had dirt streets, and wasn’t much when she became mayor and cut the stupidity from the budget, obviously offending the Wasilla ’in crowd’ who ran things. When she ran for Governor, Wasilla had paved streets, was the fastest growing city in Alaska, and it still is, thanks to Sarah.
When she became governor, she beat all the Republicans and Democrats easily, and set out to reform the State of Alaska, which she did. She confronted the big oil boys and brought them down to earth quickly. She managed to cut billions from Alaska’s budget and raised huge sums of money. She sold the jet plane and fired the chef in the governor’s mansion. She did everything right. She is an extremely sound manager, cost controller, and eliminator of B.S. No wonder the politicos are scared of her. If she ever got into the White House, she’d make America whole almost instantly, and do as I would like, and that is get rid of a hundred thousand bureaucrats, cabinet posts and departments of everything ludicrous, which is most of them. She is a strict CONSTITUTIONALIST. No wonder McCain picked her.
Half way through the book, she gets picked for Vice President. Then she is hounded and ’guided’ by those in control of the election, and she is throttled beyond belief. What you saw of Sarah on the campaign trail, was not the real Sarah. It was the Sarah who was told what to do, what not to do, what to say, what not to say, how to dress, and she hated it. I know, you are tired of me recommending books, but you’ve simply got to get this one. You’ll meet the real Sarah Palin, and love her. Even though I am not supposed to write on Thursday if it is a holiday, I can’t resist this one, because she’s so worth while, so clean, strong, smart, moral, honest, and the woman everyone thinks should represent America. She’s got no skeletons in her closet like Hillary and Obama and most others have. I can’t think of but a few politicians of either party who I would trust a thousand dollars with, or trust with anything. They’re a bunch of cockroaches who mess up everything they touch.
Why did she quit as governor? The reason is so obvious, and she tells why. Was the book ghost written? No, and she has pages of those who helped her. Does she have advice and solutions? Of course! Get it and read it.
I’m not sure if she could make a Presidential candidate, because she’s a woman, but I know she could make the grade with a strong male candidate for president. Rick Perry, governor of Texas? Can she administer, run a business, city, state, or nation? You bet. Read it, and have a happy Thanksgiving. It’s $14.50 at Amazon.
