100 Senators, 435 Representatives, and one President, who signs the bills. Not meaning to bore Let’s turn the clock back again, to prove what the 536 in D.C. have wrought. The 535, being you with history, but in this case, I am sure we won’t repeat it, even though we know it. The 536 have destroyed our dollars, which we use to live on, buy things, rent things, sell things, and unfortunately, too many save in for future use, maybe at retirement. Without a currency, a civilization would collapse. While we urge you to save your surplus assets in silver and gold, it is pretty obvious that we will never be able to barter with them, other than perhaps with a yard sale or farmer. You can’t wire or send checks in ounces of silver and gold. However, you can easily sell an ounce or two, or as many as you please, and do it pretty quickly, to get the dollars you might need. Do any of you expect consumer prices to go down again? Then, why would you expect gold and silver to go down, other than corrections caused by futile attempts to manipulate, or the buy-sell phenomena of making the markets short or long on supply.
Stott’s Law, states that “The more of anything there is, the less they will be worth.” This includes dollars, so the more that are printed, thanks to huge deficits, the less they will be worth, and therefore the dollar is being debased, prices go up, and lots of other hideous things happen automatically.
When I was growing up in my Dad’s drug store in Washington D.C., besides buying gas for less than a quarter a gallon, I remember the salary my Dad paid his employees. Hunter Traylor had a wife, young son, and had bought a new home off of East-West Highway, in a wonderful neighborhood in suburban D.C. His wife didn’t work, and Hunter made $65 a week. He did just fine. I can’t remember what kind of car he drove, but the point is that Hunter’s salary, after taxes were taken out, (I don’t know how much in the early 1950’s), made his house payments, and his family did very well. Hunter’s was a single wage earner family, in other words. Frances, his wife was a mother and housewife. That scene was played out millions of times in the 1950’s in the previous hundred or more years. America had millions of single earner families. Mom cooked, cleaned, mothered, and the kids turned out fine.. Dad went to work, and his salary was sufficient for the family to live a good life.
Today, the latest statistics show that the work force is made up of 50% female. Half are women and half are men. Statistics also show that juvenile delinquency, youth criminals, divorce, broken homes, and bankruptcies are at all time highs. Even with both parents working, families are still going bankrupt. Carelessness, over-spending, and foolish use of credit cards? Maybe. Credit cards in the 1950’s were a virtually unknown thing, so it was impossible to run up debts on them. Debased dollars, means wives have to go to work. Wages have never gone up as fast as inflation. The single wage earner family, with the dad providing, is a thing of the past. Some may say that women needed to get out of the housewife drudge and boredom, but I disagree. Being a housewife and mother, is simply not possible in 2010, because the buck has lost its value, (been debased), and buys ever less. The result is that we have “latchkey kids,” who come home from school to an empty house, and get into trouble without guidance, care, and discipline.
Another reason we have no more single wage earner households, is that there is virtually no more factory work or jobs, which paid well. Jobs went to Mexico first, then to Japan, and now to China. Why did we lose jobs? American workers are among the best in the world. Because the 536 have debased the dollar so much, and tried to cover their miss-deeds by placing hidden taxes on everything we need and use, that everything a factory needs to operate, has everything working against it. Taxes on property, utilities, transportation, wages, raw materials, and communications, make manufacturing things in America, virtually cost-prohibitive. As if that weren’t bad enough, manufacturers are flooded with various bureaucracies, which force them to obey mandates and silly work rules, costing additional fees. There’s always a snooping bureaucrat lurking around, to catch management doing something on which a fine can be levied.
China, Mexico and India have no OSHA, and myriad work rules, which costs would cut profits, and make their outputs more expensive to buy. Wages overseas in the various Oriental nations, are so low as to be laughable, but then so are their living costs also. Living costs are high here, because the dollar is low. Some blame the unions, but that is only partly true. Unions are basically representative negotiations between management and labor, and negotiating is not wrong. There are crimes in every part of every society, and unions have been known to be brutal, lawless, unfair, and threatening. Management the same. In spite of union-management history, quarrels and strife; unions can only be partially blamed for no more single working parent families. Union auto workers, have been corrupted, and management made huge mistakes in poor engineering and styling, so both are to blame.
When a currency is debased, the results can be far reaching. The family farm is becoming a thing of the past, thanks to dollar debasement. In order to make a living on a farm, thanks to dollar debasement, extreme efficiency and huge, powerful implements are needed to show a profit, and compete against foreign low wage growers of foods. The single family farmer can not afford to buy that machinery, and be as efficient as corporate farms must be to meet competition from around the world. Low wage paying farms in other nations, can and have killed the individual farmer, thanks to dollar debasement.
It’s difficult to find anything which is made or even grown at profit making rates in America any longer, thanks to dollar debasement, continual government harassment, and enormous taxes levied in an attempt to cover the 536’s miss management, miss-governing, endless handouts, subsidizations, and war making. Is it really necessary to be in a constant state of war, as some economists have hypothecated?
It isn’t just that “prices have gone up,” as a result of currency debasement. No, it’s far more hideous than that. Crime has escalated, thanks to single parent families who live off of the welfare the 536 have provided. Their offspring have become an ’underclass,’ who care for nothing but instant gratification, which is achieved by becoming brutes and criminals. Thanks to the underclass, neighborhoods have been ruined and police forces increased at taxpayer expense. The ruined neighborhoods have destroyed cities’ tax bases, and caused ’white flight.’ ’White flight’, has caused huge pollution problems from millions driving many miles to get to work, plus enormous expenditures for multi lane highways to carry them to work. Dollar debasement, ’white flight,’ destroyed neighborhoods, and long commutes, have caused monstrous increases in oil (gasoline) consumption and air pollution, making America breathe foul air, and be dependent on foreign oil. Hundred of billions of dollars going to foreign oil producers, has crippled our economy, as have imports of everything else. Currency debasement is responsible for overseas jobs by the millions and unemployment by the millions, plus millions of divorces, kids gone awry, and misery.
My Dad had other employees in his drug store, including myself at 75 cents an hour, Giles Mattingly and Marcellus Long at $55 a week. Part time employees made about the same as me, and did well with it. I left home and found an apartment at $43 a month, and did just fine. In the 1950’s there were no jobs going overseas, Korea would soon begin to rot the dollar a bit. We still had nickel cokes at Dad’s marble soda fountain, and a tin of Bayer Aspirin was still 15 cents. I think fondly of my childhood, but it is the crimes of the 536, which has destroyed the nation, and causes me to write this stuff. I have written five books, all out of print, and one still available by e-mail. The columns I write, are a way to vent my spleen, that’s all. I long for the America I remember, even the Washington D.C. I remember, which was nothing like it is now. Exposures can influence a child’s life, in either good or bad ways. Kids today, thanks to debased dollars, are exposed to empty homes or baby sitters, mom working, dad working, and far too many broken homes. Families who have to struggle, thanks to dollar debasement, often break up, causing permanent damage to fragile young lives. America no longer makes most of what it consumes, thanks to dollar debasement making foreign grown and made things too expensive to be made and grown here.
The trillions of dollars in deficits are paid by borrowing, and who knows how long China and dumb Americans will continue to buy US debt? The official debt limit has just been raised to $14 TRILLION. The Obama crowd is so frantic, that they may resort to unheard of things to further cover their miss-deeds. Several reputable financial writers have said that Obama will try to confiscate IRA’s, and substitute dollar based annuities for them. We still have the Fourth Amendment, but who knows? Lawlessness is pretty common in D.C. now. Here’s the point: if you have stored your surplus assets in an IRA, and the gold and silver are stored in an IRS approved facility, via Sterling Trust, as an example; if Obama and his crowd do something as illegal as seizing IRA’s, would that mean your gold and silver have been taken, and annuities in failing dollars substituted? I am only hypothecating the situation, but I put nothing past the scumbags in D.C., Ron Paul excepted. Would it be wise to pay the taxes and take the gold and silver home with you and get rid of the government’s watchful eyes? You decide. I am only suggesting a possibility. My gold and silver are in my safe, and protected by a sophisticated alarm system and lots of guns! Protect yourself!
