This is so unbelievable as to be a joke, but the United States Government has filed suit against the State of Arizona. The U.S. Justice Department, says that Arizona has “Crossed a Constitutional line. Setting immigration policy and enforcing immigration laws is a national responsibility,” according to U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder.
Really?
I have a copy of the Constitution in my hand as I write this, and the Tenth Amendment reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The question then, is what powers are delegated to the United States? The answer can be found in Article One, Section Eight.
Section Eight is very long, and gives explicit details as to what the Congress may do, such as the postal service, navy, army, pay debts, collect taxes, imposts, duties, borrow money, coin money and regulate the value thereof, etc, etc. The list of permissions is lengthy, but no where in Section Eight, is any mention made of enforcing the borders of the United States.
Section Nine says, “The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight.” This was aimed at the slave trade, but since in neither Section Eight, Nine, or Ten, of Article One of our Constitution, gives any mention of protecting the borders of a state, or of the individual states, where is the logic in the lawsuit? Passing laws which are not within the limits of the Constitution, nor unconstitutional, does not constitute release from the Tenth Amendment, which says the states my do something such as protect their borders.
Then let’s go back to the Tenth Amendment, which says that states may do ’what is not prohibited by the Constitution.’ Where in the Constitution does it prohibit a state from protecting its borders? There may be millions of laws on the books, but the Tenth Amendment says that the states may do what is not prohibited IN THE CONSTITUTION, (Article One, Sections Eight, Nine, and Ten), and no where is protecting a border by a state, prohibited in the Constitution.
George Bush is just as guilty as is Obama and the tiddly wink Congress, for not sealing the borders. Arizona is sick and tired of hundreds of thousands of illegals making Phoenix the kidnapping capital of America, and hundreds of thousands of crimes being committed by the illegals, with the feds turning them loose. Hundreds of thousand of illegals have been seized in Tucson alone last year, and the feds do nothing. The Federal Government has betrayed Arizona, and she is simply protecting herself. Illegals are leaving Arizona as fast as they can, before the law takes effect July 29th. Wonderful.
It is said that 70% of America loves Arizona’s law, and several states are writing their own versions of it. America is sick and tired of illegals, and the huge burden they place on citizens, law enforcement, education, and health services. Those who say that illegals work and pay their own way, are dead wrong. One Arizona town was boycotted by Mexicans because of it’s support of the law, and shoplifting took a nosedive. Merchants were happy about the boycott.
Everyone should protect themselves by any means at their disposal. Police cannot stop crime, so we have locks on our doors and cars, and have guns. We protect ourselves from cold or heat with a furnace or air conditioner, and protect ourselves from discomfort with beds and sofas. A good portion of our lives are spent protecting ourselves! We can’t seem to stop bumble brain congress from roller-coastering the nation into total insolvency, so we buy gold and silver to protect ourselves. A state cannot trust the D.C. Gang to protect its borders, so it protects them itself. Where is the crime or violation in that?
Why should we welcome illegals? If you cross into Mexico illegally, you are in deep trouble, because they deal very harshly with a U.S. citizen crossing into Mexico illegally. There are no bilingual programs in Mexican schools. All ballots are in Spanish in Mexico, as are all government business. Illegals in Mexico will never be allowed to vote, hold political office, and there are no food stamps, health care, welfare for illegals, who will be promptly deported. Foreigners in Mexico may not demonstrate, protest, or wave a foreign flag.
Just in case you think the 14th Amendment applies here, it doesn’t. The 14th Amendment is for CITIZENS, not illegals, and when will Congress stop the instant citizenship for babies of pregnant Mexicans, who cross the border deliberately to have their babies at taxpayer expense, so the kids will be automatic citizens? That makes me ill. If there ever was a need for a change in the Constitution, that is it.
In my opinion, the recent drop in gold, with silver following, is because many European nations are selling their gold in an attempt to balance their out of kilter budgets. Selling the thing of value, to turn it into worthless scrip to pay bills, which are denominated in worthless scrip, in other words. People who own gold and silver, often sell their metals at a profit to pay bills, or buy a home or car. Yesterday, one of my clients sold 25 – 100 oz silver bars which he had owned for less than three years, at way more than double what he paid for them. No charge, because he bought them from me. It’s nice to deal with us and have that protection!
