Revolution (s)

The state Legislatures in a couple of states have set new records for irresponsibility. A revolution. Do they realize they are making the Democrat Party the laughing stock of not only America, but the world?  “We don’t like the way the elections turned out, even though the winning candidates promised in advance what they would do if they got elected.  They’re doing it, and we don’t like it, so in order to stop them, we’re going to another state.  They’ll never get a caucus while we’re away. To hell with the fact that the voters think we’re acting like children.  My minority union constituency doesn’t like it, so bye bye.  My guys will keep screaming and yelling till the cows come home, and more power to them.”  Now, isn’t that a marvelous, responsible way to hold public office?

Suppose cops got angry and took fake sick leave, if a new police chief decided to make the force more efficient, and streamline things?  Suppose the House and Senate Democrats decided to take leave because they didn’t like the Republicans’ actions?  Suppose men manning power plants, telephone switchboards, or gas works, got angry at their bosses and left their jobs?  Is one more irresponsible than the other?  Aren’t the state legislature Democrats drawing their salaries while they are in some motel in another state?  Who is paying their expenses while they are away?  No one is taking away a state government union’s right to bargain about wages.  Only the fringe benefits, which should not be open to bargaining anyway.  Maybe the federal government unions should walk off too?  They won’t, because the D.C. Gang can print all the money needed to keep them overpaid and over-benefitted.

States can’t print money, and finally the chickens have come home to roost.  It’s either balance the budgets or go bankrupt.  It’s either act sensibly and cut wages and benefits, or fire thousands.  Take your choice Democrats and unions.  I cannot understand why there should be government employee unions in the first place.  The most inefficient workers are government workers at any level.  60 years ago, when my Dad bought a farm in Southern Maryland, it was fun to watch a state roads crew work.  Seven guys.  One working, one sleeping in the truck, and five watching, or milling about.  It was fun to come upon a crew and count.  It’s always been that way at any level of government, and finally America has had enough.  The Tea Parties have done marvelous things, haven’t they?  Send them some money.  I do.

Then we have the Mid East.  It started with Tunisia, spread to Yemen, Egypt, Algeria, and now Libya.  The Yemenis are well armed and educated, so their despot has instructed the police to protect the demonstrators.  Guns are a powerful influence, aren’t they?  There are an estimated 200 million guns in America.  Gives one a sense of security, even if you don’t have any, which you should.  If you look at a map, you will note that all of the revolts against long time rulers and dictators, are in nations which completely surround Israel.  Will the Muslim Brotherhoods take over these nations, group together, and attack Israel, thereby starting WW III?  Or are these people just sick and tired of dictatorships, and really want to elect their rulers?  We can hope so.  Can Gadhafi hold out much longer?  Will he outrage the civilized world further, by blowing up his oil wells, and further brutalizing the citizenry with more random shooting and maybe poison gas?  Two of his pilots ejected and let their planes crash, rather than shooting innocents.  Will the army revolt against him?

Jimmy Carter is responsible for Iran becoming a Muslim state.  It was secular, till Jimmy decided to bring the unpopular Shah to America and back him.  That was all that was needed for the Muslims to destroy Iran and take over.

It is possible that if Republicans decide to reduce handouts to the worthless, which they should, there will revolts, paralyzing major cities.  I have been preaching for years to get out of the big cities.  All sorts of unthinkable things could, and may well happen here in the U.S.  Things we have never even thought of, such as a state legislature walking out to prevent votes.  These are indeed perilous times, and we need to protect ourselves by acting wisely.  When something happens, it’s too late.  Look ahead.  Is the dollar going to strengthen?  Are prices going to go down on lettuce, tomatoes, lumber, tires, or roofing?  Then, for goodness sake, think ahead, and get out of failing dollars, and into gold and silver.  After the horses are gone, it’s too late to shut the barn door!  Protect yourself.
