Revolutions

There have been literally hundreds of revolutions in history, probably beginning when the Jews revolted against Rome, or even before in China possibly.  The Scots revolted against the Brits several times, as have the Irish.  The Philippines revolted against the Spanish several times, and in 1848, there were revolts and revolutions all around the world.

One of the greatest revolts was the American Revolution, which resulted when Americans got fed up with the King, and his governance and taxation.  This was partially responsible for the French Revolution, which threw out the aristocracy in France.  During the War Between the States, Lincoln started the draft in New York, because no one wanted to join the Union to fight against the freedom loving South.  This resulted in the Draft Riots.  Washington levied so many taxes on alcohol, that in 1794 America had the “Whiskey Rebellion.”

The Russian Revolution threw out the Russian aristocracy, and they then discovered that maybe they should have left well enough alone when the communists took over, as was true in China.  Throughout history, when people get enough, usually of government, they revolt, and take matters into their own hands.  In Libya now, a rag tag bunch of rebels are fighting against an unelected, 42 year old dictatorship, which has far more devotees than they initially thought.

Revolutions can take place in the electoral process, as is now being shown in several states, when governors and state legislatures are fighting unions, as they promised to do when running.  Please note that the ’public service’ unions aren’t going on strike, because they know they have good jobs and are being well paid.  California elected ’Governor Moonbeam,’ and he seems to be cutting expenses so far.

The revolt, or revolution which took place in the last national election, elected Tea Party candidates all over the nation, and the effects are glorious.  America has had enough of deficits, outrageous government growth and spending, and we did something about it.  The job is not even half done, and the revolution can be completed next year, when Obama and his crew can be thrown out, thereby restoring America to its former glory.  We can all hope.  Most revolutions, if not all of them, are the result of governments growing, and harassing their citizenry to the point of actual revolt.  The Tea Party Revolt, will go down in history as one of the best and most influential.  Please support any and all Tea Party candidates when they announce soon.  We can change America, and this may be our last chance!

Many an aristocracy has ended with a revolution, but the Brits seem to love theirs, although it is but a figurehead, after several revolts throttled it down to its current powerless but grand position.  They can have it, with the royal weddings and parades ad infinitum, ad nauseum.  The Brits say that tourism more than pays the cost of the Queen and her castles.  Who knows?  But this brings me to another point.  My wife and I are going to England and Scotland for a couple of weeks, leaving a week from today, so Colorado Gold will be left in the hands of my kids, David and Melissa.  They’ll have their hands full I am sure, so be patient.  The demand for silver is unprecedented, and the producers are working night and day.  The ratio has gone from 77 to 1 a couple of years ago, to 35 to 1 currently, meaning that silver has gone up twice as far as has gold.  This may well continue till the ratio goes back to its historic 16 to 1 ratio and may even go lower.  Please realize that we can book silver at its current price, even though it may take three weeks to deliver.
