The space station, exploration, supposed moon landings, trips to Mars, and now a six year trip to Jupiter, as far as I can see, is, and have seen, a total waste of probably a trillion dollars. How’s that for a blanket statement?
Of what value is that space station, which keeps getting additions to it? What has it proved? Bone loss in space? Muscle decay in space? Oh my! Isn’t that an important discovery! That space station will crash to the earth, if it isn’t constantly pushed up, because it isn’t high enough to stay there forever without additional help. Everything, be it water, oxygen, food, fuel, and of course an additional room now and then, has to be taken there and at a cost of a thousand dollars per pound, or some such insane price. And all the waste has also to be taken away the same way. The cost is astronomical, always will be, always has been, and there have been no ’discoveries’ other than what concerns weightlessness, and who gives a damn? We live HERE, not in space, and that’s where we will always live. Now, we can’t even get there without the Ruskie’s ships, because our Tin Lizzie shuttles have been retired before there is another accident.
Did we go to the moon in the early 1960’s? There have been books written to prove that it didn’t happen. Going to the moon requires very sophisticated computers. I got mine in 1985, 20 years later, and was it crude! The pictures of that moon landing have the shadows in all the wrong angles, there is no dust, etc. I’m not writing this to argue or disprove the first moon landing nonsense, because I already believe it was a fraud, just to get even with the Russian Sputnik. Did we go there later? Maybe.
All the NASA trillion, have been a total waste. Private enterprise launches satellites for communications, TV, and other uses, not NASA. Commercial satellites go up much higher than that fool space station, and are far more sophisticated. They also operate at a PROFIT, as opposed to NASA’s tons of red ink, paid for by deficits and taxpayers. All the supposed thrills of watching the last shuttle land and take off, are small peanuts compared to commercial, for profit, satellite launches, which are never publicized.
Is there water on Mars? Did anyone ever live on Mars? Who cares? Literally, who cares? If they do, let them pay for the exploration, not taxpayers. What’s on Jupiter? Who cares? It’ll take six years to find out. Every time that shuttle went up, I always imagined the millions of dollars that launch cost taxpayers, and to deliver some water, food, oxygen, and a few parts or additions to that absurd station, at how much per pound?
And now that the shuttles have been retired, it is said that 35,000 NASA employees will lose their jobs? Just imagine that savings, and imagine how many thousands of highly paid employees it took to do that inane space station, and launch those shuttles. Every time a shuttle was scheduled to go, a leak, bad computer or valve would be discovered, and all would be postponed again, at huge cost.
NASA, from its very conception, was an abominable, total, waste of money and time. From its beginning, it was full of outright lies about its achievements and costs. Does anyone really believe we’ll ever live off the earth? Does anyone really believe that space station serves any useful purpose, and is not a total waste of money?
Ever wonder why the Silver Eagle is $2.50 over spot, and the A-Mark Round is 85 cents over spot? Maybe this will explain. The Silver Eagle is made by the United States Government, and believe it or not, it doesn’t even make its own blanks for the Silver Eagle. The blanks are made by the same people who make the A-Mark Rounds, and both contain one ounce of silver. The U.S. Mint, in West Point New York, takes the blanks they didn’t make, and its dies stamp out Silver Eagles. They cost $1.65 more than A-Mark Rounds, which also use dies to stamp them out. The efficiency of the United States Government, is the reason for the $1.65 difference between the two. That’s the same outfit that poured a trillion dollars into NASA.
P.S. Now that gold is over $1800, and silver over $40, just remember when, as per a previous column, people used to say, “It’ll never get to $300,” or take 1962, when a quarter car wash cost a quarter, now it’s ten times that. Same quarters, and same gold. YOUR DOLLARS ARE FADING LIKE THE SUNSET. GET OUT OF THEM AND INTO GOLD AND SILVER, NOT T BILLS, WHICH ARE SIMPLY MORE DOLLARS! If you don’t, you are an idiot!
