Celebration? Yes! Let’s celebrate some more! Let’s see how wonderful the ATF is, shall we? You know, the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms division, and which has recently been enlarged to ’Explosives.’ Do we need to spend hundreds of billions a year to control Alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and now explosives? I think EVERYONE should have a gun, drink and smoke what they choose, and of course ’explosives control,’ is absurd.
The news of several months ago, screamed that guns from America were flooding Mexico and causing great consternation about all those gun dealers who were probably selling those guns illegally, in huge quantities to crooks, who took them across the border into Mexico and gave them to the drug cartel, who in turn shot innocent people. How horrible! Those nasty gun dealers! We should OUTLAW GUNS. Shouldn’t we?
And then, some whistleblower uncovered “Fast And Furious.” “Fast and Furious,” in all probability is responsible for as many as 28,000 guns being bought and shipped to who knows where. Mexico? Maybe. Kept in the US? Maybe. How did this happen? Gee Dad, it is your government at work, if you haven’t already guessed. When massive amounts of guns were attempted to be purchased, worried, legal, gun dealers called a warning, and instead got approval and the OK from the ATF(E). “It’s OK guys, sell them all they want. We’re keeping track of the serial numbers.” Many, many thousands of guns were sold under protest of gun dealers. Gun dealers thought it was nuts, but your government said it was all OK, as they had a “plan.” (Everyone should have a plan).
So, the guns were sold, and some showed up and still show up in Mexico. The liberal press jumped with joy. “The guns came from America!” “They were bought illegally from gun dealers, who only thought of evil profits, at the expense of innocents who were killed with those American guns!” Or stories similar to that. Oh those evil capitalists. Those evil guns which kill innocents. Another argument for banning guns? Naturally.
Except, as might have been known all along, there’s a government in the woodpile. The ATF(E) is directly under the control of the Department of Justice, and the head of that outfit is Obama’s man Eric Holder. ATF(E)’s director, is Kenneth Melson. Senators Grassley and Issa have held hearings, trying to find out who is responsible for this gross misconduct. Messers Holder and Melson, have been asked the question, “Who is responsible?” Their answers are, “We don’t know.” The liberal media seem to have ignored the fact that gun dealers acted as they should have acted, but government didn’t.
This then, seems pretty obvious to me: CYA, means ’cover your a–’, and it seems to be a common trait of the D.C. bureaucracy. Freeze Social Security for two years, but give us a raise, says Congress. Let’s not include food or fuel in the cost of living index, which makes it a total LIE, and screws all recipients of Social Security. Hopefully, they may eventually get a raise. We’ve simply GOT to get rid of the Obama regime. It is destroying what’s left of America.
8%
That’s what it is, an 8% correction in gold, and less in silver. Was a lot of physical gold sold, flooding the markets with physical gold, causing the price to drop? Maybe a tiny percentage was physical, but in the main, it was people who speculate in futures, taking their profits. If you do gold futures, and have a profit, you sell and take your profit. Is there anything sinister or abnormal about taking a profit? Seems pretty normal to me. Yet I spend hours begging people not to panic sell, because it would be stupid to sell at the bid price, pay to ship, and then think you’ll make a profit buying back at the ask price and paying a commission. Dumb! (Melissa had a new client who bought 7 kilos, and when the price went down, despite begging and pleading, sold them the next day at a loss of close to $70,000. How did such an idiot get that money to buy gold in the first place with his mentality?) Why do people, when gold takes a correction, want to sell at the bottom? The value of gold and silver will continue through eternity, even with corrections. While some corrections are manipulated, just remember that 10 years ago, gold was $250, and in spite of all the manipulations, the manipulators haven’t done a very good job, have they?
