The dictionary definition of an isolationist is: “A person who opposes the involvement of his or her own country international alliances, agreements, etc.” One of the main complaints about Ron Paul is that he is an isolationist. I am one too, and anyone who thinks that is wrong, should stop and think about what America’s being non-isolationist, has gotten us. Two World Wars, The United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, Libya, and all sorts of alliances and afflictions which has broken our treasury, sent millions of troops overseas to be killed, injured or permanently maimed. We’re still paying for the physical and mental damages done to troops from World War Two, and the costs and damages to injured troops from Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan will linger on for another 50 years, at least.
Being an isolationist nation, simply means that we offer no help, subsidies, or advice to any foreign nation. We will be glad to trade with them, but we won’t fight their wars, start them, nor try to promote democracy around the world. If the world wants to be democratic, let them follow examples, and not have anything forced down their throats with American tanks, planes, and troops. All wars which America has fought, have been disasters and totally un-necessary, including World War Two, which Roosevelt got us into to (1) get us out of the Great Depression, and (2) to get even with Japan for the rape of China, a decade earlier. He provoked Japan by cutting off their access to oil, steel, and use of international waterways, to put it very briefly.
The degradation of American wealth and spirit from the many wars we have fought, not to mention the huge costs in resources, lives, and dollars, are criminal. Our dollars, after each and every war became worth less and less, due to fighting the wars with printing press money. So bad, that jobs went overseas, and unemployment escalated. After World War Two, the idiotic Marshall Plan, gave away billions to our former enemies, who we bombed to win the war. We outfitted our former enemies with the latest in steel making technology and mills, and rebuilt their cities. No good of any kind has ever come from a war, no matter who starts it or who wins it. Doesn’t it seem true that America always seems to be in a war or two? Has the military-industrial complex captured America and its law makers, as Eisenhower warned over 50 years ago?
Giving hundreds of millions to the World Bank, IMF, and United Nations, has not brought prosperity or peace to America. These outfits are merely channels to give away American wealth, and get us into foolish wars. Who cares if the rest of the world fights each other, mains each other, blows up each other, starves each other, or fights endless wars? That’s their problem, not ours. We have two huge oceans to protect us, and we should protect our own shores, not anyone else’s. Are people starving because of their respective governments? Too bad. Maybe they should get rid of their corrupt governments. Israel is our best friend? I’m glad, but I don’t want to support Israel nor fight its wars.
Before the fraudulent 9/11 happening, 95% of the world’s Muslims had no problems with America, and actually liked us. When we invaded their nations, they naturally became outraged, and understandably so, just as we would feel if we were invaded by a foreign power. I am not going to get into 9/11 here, but everyone should see “Loose Change,” and “In Plane Sight,” I think both of which can be seen on-line. It will be well worth your time!
Trade with other nations? Of course! America has always been a trading nation, and always should be a trading nation, but that’s as far as it goes. If America hadn’t fought foolish wars, had never instituted the welfare state, and continually enlarged it, the dollar would still be supreme, and the world would still envy us, look up to us, buy from us, and be jealous of our marvelous economy. As it is, just look at us. 9% (probably 15%) unemployment, decreasing dollar value, jobs going overseas, and a President who is probably a closet Muslim, has a forged birth certificate, and no one can explain how he got to be there, looking at his record.
What does the future hold for America? If we can clean out the White House, elect more Senators and Representatives, and realize that big government and millions of pages of regulations are killing us, we might have a chance. By all means, support the Tea Party. It’s our one hope to throw out the bastards.
From the Gladstone Kibosh of January 6, 1900. “The Mayor, who is also Editor and Police Magistrate, will in the near future make extensive preparations for the spring election. One thousand Wheeling stogies and a case of Razzle Dazzle whiskey has been ordered.”
