Czars

The dictionary definition of a czar is:  “Any person having great or unlimited power  An autocrat. Example: The President’s Energy Czar.”  To quote a couple of Russian Proverbs:  “When the Czar has a cold all Russia coughs.”  Or, “When the Czar has smallpox, all Russia is pockmarked.”  The term originated in Russia, and the Czar in Russia was the emperor, and of course all powerful.  This is AMERICA, isn’t it?  I sometimes wonder.  Naturally enough, the first czar in America was appointed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who appointed eleven.  Obama has appointed 32, all in 2009, and only nine confirmed by the Senate.  As far as I can determine, there are 51 of them now in power, obviously under the President, and also obviously a corruption of the Constitution, which does not give the President legislative or rule making powers.  (Executive Orders are not allowed by the Constitution either.)

The average czar has a salary of about $175,000, and has a staff of highly priced assistants, plus secretarial and other staff, offices, and everything that goes with an appointed chief bureaucrat.  The czars make and write thousands of pages of regulations and rules, which obviously harass business people, and cause them untold grief and expenses, which they are probably unable to protest about or not obey, here in socialistic Amerika.  Can we suppose that each czar costs the taxpayers out of pocket, maybe $20 million?  Multiply that by 51, and it’s over $10 billion.  The cost to American business people, housewives, and citizens, because of senseless rules and regulations, must be multiple times the $10 billion in direct costs to taxpayers.

Obama’s appointed czars are alphabetically, as follows:  Afghanistan Czar, Aids Czar, Auto Recovery Czar, Border Czar, California Czar, Car Czar, Central Region Czar, Climate Czar, Domestic Violence Czar, Drug Czar, Economic Czar, Energy and Environmental Czar, Faith Based Czar, Government Performance Czar, Great Lakes Czar, Green Jobs Czar, Guantanamo Closure Czar, Health Czar, Information Czar, Intelligence Czar, Mideast Peace Czar, Pay Czar, Regulatory Czar, Science Czar, Stimulus Accountability Czar, Sudan Czar, TARP Czar, Technology Czar, Terrorism Czar, Urban Affairs Czar, Weapons Czar, and finally, WMD Czar, all appointed by Obama in 2009. Whew!  Just think of the rules and regulations as well as abject failure and scandals connected with the Czars.

Please inform this wag, where in our Constitution does it authorize a czar over anything? Doesn’t it make you cringe when the word “czar” is used in a news broadcast?  It does me.  When I observe that America has 51 Czars, and it reminds me of communistic Russia, I am admittedly being terribly old fashioned, because after all, aren’t we supposed to be working towards a “One World?”

Those who say the “One Worlders” are having their way, are wrong.  The idea that everyone in the world could possibly agree to a single government or currency, is absurd.  No amount of money or political power could make that happen in a thousand years,  The 17 Euro Nations are all at odds now about what to do about Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Ireland, who are hopelessly in debt, not counting the French Banks which are questionable.  Can anyone imagine China, Russia, and America ever agreeing to a common government, not counting a hundred other nations, all speaking different languages?

P.S.  There’s another debate tonight on Fox, which should be very interesting, considering the fact that we’re getting into a real depression now, it seems.  Don’t worry, gold and silver will reign supreme.  A small percentage correction means nothing.  The fall weather here is absolutely wonderful.  Down in the 40’s at night, and high 70’s or low 80’s in daytime, with 20% humidity, and the mountains 30 miles away covered in fresh snow.  As the song goes, “If God doesn’t live in Colorado, I’m sure he spends a lot of his time here.”
