What hath Obama wrought? I’ll tell you. His continual harping about the rich “Paying their fair share,” is directly responsible for the Democrat, left wing, communists, anarchists, and other screwballs, coming out of the woodwork by the thousands, and parading about like the great unkempt that they are. They want to “Shut down Wall Street,” “Raise taxes on the billionaires,” and “Eliminate corporate greed,” just to name a few. I have no idea of how to ’shut down Wall Street,’ because if there were no more stock trading, the world would end pretty quickly, and 90% of businesses would close within a week. There would be no railroads, airlines, gasoline or diesel, super markets, or Walmarts, and the list is in the hundreds. Everyone would starve to death, or die from the riots. If the billionaires had every cent they owned seized and taxed by the treasury, it wouldn’t make even a teensy dent in the outrageous spending and debt. And these four would no longer contribute anything to the economy, which they surely do now.
Raise taxes on the billionaires? There are only four, and they are Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison (Oracle), and Christie Walton, daughter of founder Sam Walton. These four billionaires pay huge amounts of taxes, and besides that support large charitable foundations. Eliminate corporate greed? A very general phrase which means absolutely nothing. Are corporations ’greedy?’ Are poor people ’greedy,’ when they try to make every penny count, clip coupons, and live frugally? Are employees who try to outshine their compatriots and strive for promotions, ’greedy?’ Are auto race drivers and horse race jockeys who try to outsmart the competition, ’greedy?’ Are corporations who constantly improve their wares and spend millions on ads, trying to outsmart their competition, ’greedy?’ ’Greed,’ is universal, and when boy meets the girl he wants and vice versa, they dress and act so as to impress the other. Isn’t this ’greed’ in a way? Corporations try their best to make a profit, so that shareholders get rewarded for their investment. Business people try to make a profit, while at the same time meeting competition, pleasing customers, and getting them in the first place, which could be called ’greed,’ I suspect.
What do these protesters want? Anything specific, other than shutting down Wall Street, crippling America, and taxing the four billionaires? No plans, no programs, and nothing specific, other than redistributing everything, and making everyone equal. Isn’t that a bright idea now! We’ve already done that in Cuba, and the Soviet Union failed by doing it. Ho Chi Minh and Stalin killed a hundred million by ’equalizing’ everyone. I wonder if the protesters call each other ’comrade?’ They’re blindly following the Pied Piper, known here as Obama, to ultimate perdition.
Obama and the liberals always talk about ’making the rich pay their fair share,’ about which I did a column on July 14th. Go to archives and read it. When interviewed, these marchers have this blank look on their faces when asked what they would do to correct the situation about which they are protesting. Honestly, in my opinion, Obama is either utterly stupid, or is trying to take America down to the level of pure socialism, which can be easily translated into communism. You know, the communism which preached, ’from everyone according to his ability, and to everyone according to his need.’ The protesters are fulfilling part of the Communist Manifesto. The protesters shouts, are indeed a symphony of every communist, socialist, threat to freedom that has ever existed in the timeline of civilization. America is the one totally unique item in history. A nation which threw off the bonds of kings, unelected tyrants and dictators. America, which at one time thrived on freedom, small government, inventiveness, exports, manufacturing, gold backed currency, silver coinage, and yes, prosperity. America, which is choking under the progressives like Obama, and George Bush, with their wars, czars, rules, regulations, bureaucrats, and harassments. We’ve had ENOUGH. At least I have.
The latest effort of the Democrats to finance Obama’s ludicrous bill, is to tax those making a million an additional 5%. That would raise $20 billion if it worked and passed. A drop on the burning tongue of the Lazarus debt. 47% of Americans, probably most of the protesters, pay no income tax at all. Want to equalize things? Get a job and pay taxes.
