Dumb Government – part four

In 1972, I was told about government feeding people, and I was flabbergasted, to put it mildly.  Surely this couldn’t be true!  It was, and for that matter, it still is.  Food stamps, as they’re known, are received by millions of Americans.  I understand they are now on sort of a credit card, which can be run through the machine in a grocery store.  How nice.  How utterly dumb!

Dumb government has now taken away the responsibility for feeding ones self.  It’s been close to forty years now that government has been feeding millions and millions of people, who have lost all skills and even desire to feed themselves.  Why work for food, when it’s free?  Kind of pointless isn’t it?  40 million are receiving food stamps, and at a cost of $668 per month for a family of four.  That’s taxpayer or printed, un-backed money for that $668 per month.  Another fact about food stamps, is that millions of dollars worth are sold on the black market for fifty cents on the dollar, so recipients can buy beer or drugs with their food stamps, which purchases are not allowed.  Sell ’em at a 50% discount so the liquor store or drug dealer can be patronized?  Happens every day in every city.

Grocery stores could care less, and recipients of food stamps could also care less.  For close to forty years now, millions of people won’t work for food, but have it given to them by government.  I wonder why government doesn’t give them free rent?

Oh I forgot!  They do give them free rent.  Ever hear of “Section Eight?”  Section Eight, is the program  (how I hate that word ’program!’),  which gives people free rent.  All they have to do to qualify, is to prove that they may be too lazy to work, or can’t or won’t work  The landlord receives a check every month for the section eight recipients, who also of course, receive free food stamps.  Presto!  No rent to pay, and no food bills to pay.  Get sick?  Not to worry, because the law states that no emergency room can turn anyone away, even if they haven’t a dime in their pockets.  We then have free housing, free food, and free medical care, not to mention free schooling.  A person or family, who is lazy or poor eats and lives free, and their kids eat breakfast and lunch free at schools.  Is this really the road to Utopia?

The ’supplemental nutrition’ programs cost $7 billion.  Got to keep those welfare recipients healthy, so they can copulate and produce more single parent ’families,’ and fill the police blotters and public housing, while us workers have achieved ZPG, or zero population growth.  The underclass are like weeds growing uncontrolled, and eating us alive.

Don’t forget farm and food subsidies either, which cost $79 billion a year, and makes the farmers produce or not produce depending on the sugar, wheat, or other subsidies, thereby un-balancing the marketplace, or encouraging foreign imports.  It has been said that thanks to the un-balanced food production in America, only 39% of our food is grown here.  Vegetables, fruit and meat from Chile, Mexico, or other places, may or may not be of good quality or free from disease.

Thanks to everlasting dumb government, America has become the largest debtor in the world.  What we used to produce and use and eat, now comes from elsewhere, while we are inundated with un-backed Monopoly type ’money’, which loses purchasing power every day.  Where will it all end?  Probably not with the collapse of the dollar, as compared to the yen or euro, it is far stronger, although since none of them are worth a damn, you should get out of them and into gold or silver, just to protect ones self.  Will America be improved with Obama and his Democrats out of office and control?  We can certainly hope so.

P.S. If you watch the debates, Ron Paul is the only one who gives the correct answers, and even though he won’t win, I just sent him $100.   One has to contribute to the right answers, doesn’t one?
