Ask my kids what MYOB means. They’ll know. It simply means “Mind Your Own Business.” That is fine if you want to keep gossip down, but to me, it is very good advice for the United States Government and State Department. I know, I am preaching to the choir, but even Newt is on the wrong track when he wants to increase the military’s budget, which is already outrageous. The military, in actuality, is running this nation, with hundreds of bases around the world. Trillions have been spent on the military over the last decade, and here can be no possible excuse for it, nor benefit from it. The world is NOT safer because of our meddling and invading. It is less safe.
The latest is Iran, who is supposed to be getting ready to make a nuclear bomb. This may or may not be true, but Israel, America, Russia, Pakistan, India, The Koreas, China, and probably a lot more, have nuclear bombs and warheads already, but they don’t use them, because if they did, the results would be catastrophic, and everyone knows it, seemingly except Israel and America.
I have a high powered car, and guns too, but I’m no danger to anyone. Prostitutes roam the streets, but they are not a danger to a good marriage. Cops have thousands of guns, high powered cars, mace, and a host of things which are dangerous if used, but they only use them when necessary, and have to fill out a report if they even unholster their guns, and that shouldn’t be.
Iran can’t even produce its own gasoline, but has to import it. Many people think that Iran is no where near being able to produce a nuclear bomb, and all they have is some nuclear powered electricity. If Iran produces a nuclear bomb, and bombs Israel, that would be the end of Iran, because Israel would destroy it. Israel probably has dozens of nuclear bombs and lots of nuclear warheads, plus rockets capable of sending them to Iran. They don’t do it. If any nation nuked any other nation, World War Three would start, and we may all be dead with radiation.
The destroyed Fukashima nuclear plants and radiation leakage, has sent radiation around the world, and Hawaii, Alaska, and California have elevated radiation levels, as a result of that tsunami, and the destruction of those nuclear plants. The Cuban Missile Crisis threatened to reap mass destruction, but calmer heads prevailed. Russia and the U.S. at one time had thousands of warheads and bombs, but by mutual agreement and agreed inspections, their numbers are microscopic compared to former numbers.
North Korea has exploded a couple of nuclear bombs and sent a couple of rockets into the air, but even they know sending a bomb to South Korea or anywhere else, would spell their destruction. The Chernobyl accident, is a classic case of what could happen if any nation decided to bomb another. Tragedy would be the result. The Chernobyl explosion has made the surrounding countryside unlivable for centuries, probably.
Iran isn’t stupid. They must know what would happen to them if they launched a nuclear attack on Israel. If Israel decided to try to take out Iranian nuclear installations, that could start a war no one would like to think about, so I hope than never happens. It is none of America’s business, and neither is Afghanistan, Korea, Vietnam, or any other nation. Ron Paul is absolutely correct. Bring the troops home NOW. Even on Fox News yesterday, K.T. Mcfarland, a brilliant gal, said virtually the same thing. The ’Get out of Afghanistan’ feelings are getting stronger and stronger. MYOB Washington D.C. Realize that the military-industrial complex, which Eisenhower warned us about, has taken virtual control of us and our budget, and to our detriment.
Iran is an Islamist State, thanks to America. It used to be secular, until America welcomed the Shah and treated him for cancer, which angered Iran to no end, as he was highly unpopular. America backed Iraq, when it attacked Iran. Our not MYOB (Minding Our Own Business), helped to create an Iranian Islamist State, which used to be secular
Last column for a week. Going to Texas. (Don’t mess with Texas!)
P.S. I’ll bet you that by election time, gasoline prices will be $1.50 lower than now, which will deflate Republicans’ arguments. It has to do with futures contracts, about which I’ll write on the 27th.
