Many a marriage has broken up because of debt. While the phrase “Till death do us part,” has been literally translated into “Till debt do us part.” Years ago, I had a psychiatrist tell me that marriages fail because of either money, sex, or in-laws. It is probably mostly money. Debt is a crushing albatross around one’s or a marriage’s neck. The urge to spend money one doesn’t have because of credit cards or credit in general, is a temptation far too many cannot resist. When a marriage fails, or bankruptcy occurs because of a lack of self control, it is a sad occurrence, but when the same phenomena is present in whole nations, disaster is the certain result. Economic sense, is not at all prevalent in too many marriages, and in the world as well.
I simply cannot believe what’s going on, not only in Spain, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, and Ireland, but here in America. It’s as if the entire world, practically, has lost sight of basic economics. Politicians, that is. Everywhere, politicians are so anxious to stay in office, that they flatly refuse to do what any normal, conscientious person would do, and that is not spend more than they have. Indeed it is, “Till debt do us part,” as a take off on wedding vows. Maybe it should read till death do us part anyway, because they are killing their respective nations.
I have never been in public office, but it must be awfully intoxicating, or politicians around the world wouldn’t spend, and continue to spend. Neither you nor I, would spend $75,000 if we only had $50,000, and if we did, the cold hard facts of basic economics would soon catch up to our actions. Yet, here in Babylon on the Potomac, politicians have allowed their constituencies to eat and gobble at the public trough, as if there were no tomorrow or debts to pay. The Tea Party Representatives in Congress, are the only ones acting as if they have a head on their shoulders, and a brain in their skulls which work. These blessed souls are ridiculed by Democrats for wanting to balance the budget and borrow no more. Why?
Obama and his Democrats think that they can borrow America into prosperity, even though it has been proven over and over again, that this does not work, either in marriage or government. In the last two years, Obama and his gang, have spent close to $2 trillion more than they have taken in, and want to spend more. They actually are so moronic, that they believe they can get us into even more debt, and this will make us prosperous. Have they no sense of morality, economics, or basic sanity? Do they really believe that huge debts could make us prosperous? Obamacare has cost tens of thousands of potential jobs, because those who might want new employees, won’t hire because of what could be coming in health care and job costs. The presses run night and day, and we’re heading down the primrose path to destruction, but Democrats are totally unaware, or are so determined to keep those offices, that they are throwing money at voters, and destroying the nation as a whole. When debts cause a marriage failure and bankruptcy, that is miniscule, compared to whole nations biting the dust in fiscal insanity and bankruptcy.
In Europe, Greeks are rioting and protesting at being possibly denied what they shouldn’t have gotten all along, such as freebies, early retirement, and no forceful tax collections. Spain’s banks are trash, and how many bonds in the above nations, do retirement funds hold? I am preaching to the choir, but the only hope America has of saving itself, literally, it to elect Tea Party Candidates to the Senate and House. Don’t be a cheap skate; send a few bucks to TEA PARTY EXPRESS at P.O. Box 96599, Washington D.C. 20090-6599. It’s your future and the future of your country which is at stake.
I think that reforming Democrats into common sense is a lost cause, and if you merely look at history, the most debts ands wars have been thanks to Democrats, with the exception of George Bush. Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Lyndon Baines Johnson, are classics, but Harry Truman got us into Korea which cost over 50,000 American lives. At least the Bush disasters in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost us far fewer lives. It’s as if when one gets elected to office, and crosses that Beltway which surrounds Washington D.C., their whole mind goes into a different mode, The power trip must be undeniable, but Tea Party winners seem to have been exempt. Thank goodness!
