As Wisconsin Goes, So Goes America?

As Wisconsin goes, will the rest of America go likewise?  I am certain that the Obama gang is experiencing the heebie jeebies after the 55-44 results came in in favor of a governor who dug in and quashed the public sector union grip on the taxpayer’s throats.  Remember the virtual riots in the State Capitol?  Remember the Democrats leaving town so they wouldn’t be called upon to vote?  I am sure Wisconsin remembered, and voted to uphold Governor Scott Walker’s bold actions.  The recall involved not only Walker, but his lieutenant governor and four state senators.  All won but one senator, which will, by one vote, tie up the state senate.

Two other states are already reigning in union outrages, and I am certain others will follow.  Governor Walker and his Republicans, have lowered taxes, lowered the state debt, increased jobs, and done a damned good job.  Why that one senator lost, I can’t explain, but it may hinder the Governor’s goals.  Will the huge win, influence the November elections?  I think so.  Wisconsin hasn’t voted for a Republican President in 28 years.  Like other states, Wisconsin is a basically conservative state, except for Madison, which is the capital, home of a huge university, and supremely  liberal.  The large population of the Madison area, cancels the rest of the state’s conservatism.

If the Wisconsin vote indeed does carry weight in November,  this will make Republican control of the Senate a certainty, and continued control of the House a done deal.  We just need to get rid of Obama.  Mitt, would probably would be about like McCain…supremely moderate.  Anything but Obama.

Here’s a thought.  Everyone knows that Bill Clinton dislikes Obama, since he beat Hillary out of being the President, and for no good reason.  Since Obama is becoming less and less popular, and making huge goofs, could Bill Clinton run again?  I am certain he would love to, but the 22nd Amendment prohibits it.  Is it possible that Hillary may throw in her bid at the last minute, to save the Democrat control of the White House?  Will Obama concoct a ’false flag’ episode to make it seem necessary to continue and beat Romney?  Will the Ron Paul contingency attempt to stop Mitt at the convention by delegates switching their votes?  Time will tell.

                           Stocks

I don’t own any stocks, nor do I want to, unless the market crashes, and there are huge bargains around.  Richard Russell developed the Dow Theory years ago, and it has been terribly accurate over the years.  Let me quote the first few lines of his June 4, 2012 letter.  “DANGER, A primary bear market has been signaled, according to Dow Theory.  On May 1st the Dow Industrials rose to a high of 13279.32.  The transports failed by a large margin to confirm.  The two averages then turned down and broke their April lows.  Under Dow Theory, this was a confirmation that a primary bear market is in progress.”  As I write this on Wednesday, the Dow is up over 200 points, but I do not believe that this is a violation of the Dow Theory.  If I owned any stocks, I think I’d be selling them soon.  I don’t have any, so I am merely quoting Russell, because I think he is a stock market genius and not to be ignored.  Do as you see fit.

                          Europe

Even some Germans banks have had their ratings lowered, which is a surprise.  Too many bailouts?  Spain is virtually derelict, with huge unemployment, and millions of unpaid home loans to its banks.  Spain is literally a basket case, a dark saraband of lost causes, as is Greece.  If either of them exits the euro, as the are likely to do, where does that leave Italy, Portugal, Ireland, and the rest of the euro nations?  Belgium, and even Cyprus, isn’t any too healthy either, for that matter.  Will a euro collapse harm America or the rest of the world?  It certainly would!  Would it make the dollar stronger?  Maybe.  Would it affect the prices of gold and silver?  I think so, and I think it would make them go up radically.

For a little humor, from the December 9, 1899 Gladstone Kibosh.  “The editor of this paper cannot longer refrain from giving the town of Silverton a just dubbing. The place is becoming easternized, and is losing its old time vim.  Our readers will be pained to know that the policemen of that once ’warm’ town wear brass buttons on their clothes, and you are not allowed to yell and shoot off your irons when riding your pet bronco down the street.  They give you water on the side with your liquor, and use, as they term it, a ’napkin’ when they eat.  One runs a chance of being arrested should you kill a chainman.  We advise our citizens if you are bound to have a good time, stay at home.”
