Gradualism is Killing Us

A quick look at what has happened to America over the last 80 years, will prove that we have been decaying, are still doing so, and at an ever increasing rate. The various band-aid “fixes” have only made it worse. Can we keep the ship of America afloat, and resume our initial course of being the strong, free, independent, model for the world to follow, or will we continue to watch our standard of living decrease, dollars continue to decline, cities turn to rubble, and members of the dependent increase?  It might not be too late if we can realize how we got here, what the solution is, and, “Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead,” only in reverse.  Reverse to the time before FDR’s sabotage of the American way of life and prosperity.

America is a pussycat, as far as having sympathy for the weak, sick, old, helpless, and in any way handicapped.  This sympathy is paid for by stealing from the producing, working, self-sufficient sector, who have been decapitalized at the expense of the have-nots, as LBJ called them..  In the animal kingdom, the weak are eaten by the strong, and the misfits are allowed to die.  America operated on this principal wonderfully for the first 150 years of its existence.  People were cared for by themselves, families, church, or other charities.  Beginning with the reign of FDR, politicians learned that passing out largess from the public treasury, glommed votes at an unprecedented rate.  They began handing out “benefits” to those too weak or lazy to earn their own livings, save for their old age, pay for their own medical care, or do any of hundreds of things themselves.  It became a useful vote getting device, to make everyone feel uncomfortable with a different sex, race, weight, height, income level, social standing, or physical ability.  Vast bureaucracies were formed which issued regulations, and afterward policed, adjudicated, and punished…with no Constitutional authority of any kind.

Gradually, we have decayed, and become overrun with helpless, worthless, lazy, sick, and dependent people, while taxes, laws, regulations, and bureaucracy have increased in direct proportion to the increase of non-producers, hangers on, public housing residents, and welfare recipients.  It should occur to even the dullest person, that subsidies proliferate what is subsidized.  Currently, half pay no income taxes, and 47% are being fed by government.  How much longer can we siphon from the producers, into the bottomless pit of the non-producers?  Wealth transfers can only proceed as long as there is any wealth left to transfer, and the continuous siphon over the last 80 years, has bankrupted us.

Critics who believe every statistic emanating from the drones in D.C. will say that the economy is improving, prosperity reigns, the budget doesn’t need to be balanced, crime is down, as is inflation, and the entire litany of big government’s PR machines, which has caused the problems.  The optimists fail to see that the schools have failed, the cities are going quickly, crime is rampant, illiteracy is everywhere, we are being overrun with illegals, and the buck is worth but a tiny fraction of what is was when this began, after holding its value for the previous 150 years, just to name a few.  The gradualism is passing more laws to “fix” the problems that occur because of the siphons, subsidies, and freebies our benevolent, vote hungry legislators and Presidents of both parties have signed on to and enacted into law.

The solution, at this late date, is simply to cease and desist this nonsense.  Politicians must be replaced by statesmen or the Tea Party persuasion: those who will vote for the benefit of their country, rather than handing out more goodies.  America must return to the self-sufficient, industrious, productive land our forefathers envisioned, when they wrote the greatest freedom enabling document in history:  Our Constitution.  The Constitution has no provisions for subsidies, wealth transfers, “programs,” handouts, “czars,” or welfare.  Let the weak fare for themselves, be taken care of by their families, charities, and churches, or cease to exist.  Stop punishing success with intolerable taxes and regulations, the latter of which are also un- constitutional.  Let freedom be restored, before we producers are taken down by the rest, and we all cease to exist.  Saving America can only be accomplished by radical reform.  The current situation has to be stopped.
