1862-2012

The In 1862, the North had violated a Southern port, even though they were warned not to, as the South had seceded.  The North decided to call the bluff, and began to re-supply Ft. Sumter.  That began the War Between The States, incorrectly called “The Civil War.”  It was not about slavery, but about states rights.  Importing slaves had become illegal in 1808, and by the time the North started the war, slaves were going for $1500 in gold, and no one could afford one.

One of the great misfortunes of being a registered Republican, although I am a strong libertarian, is that the idiotic Republicans insist on worshipping that damnable Abraham Lincoln, whose goal was to have  a strong central government, a-la-Alexander Hamilton.  The Tenth Amendment says that the states have the right to do what the Constitution doesn’t delegate to the federal government.  Lincoln wanted an all powerful dictatorial federal government, and the Southern States wanted no part of it, so they seceded, virtually when he was elected, as the first Republican President.  The South knew what he was up to, and wanted out.

It isn’t as if they didn’t try, because the did.  Endless meetings with Lincoln did no good, and when he started the war, even then, he refused to meet with the South.  If you ever buy a paper bound book for a few dollars, and like to read, by all means buy  “The Real Lincoln,” by Thomas DeLorenzo.  It will quickly disabuse your mind of any affection you may have had for Abraham Lincoln.  I have tried locally to have the Republicans cease having a “Lincoln Day Dinner,” and have a “Reagan Day Dinner,” but they won’t, so permanently, have their brains been infused with idiotic Lincoln love.

Back then, a war killing 620,000 was begun by Lincoln, and the shallow, untrue, excuse, was ’To save the union,” “Abolish slavery,” or take your pick of several.  The South was right, and the North was wrong.  Now, turn the clock back to today, and see what’s going on, and its total similarity to 150 years ago.  Lincoln had his way after 620,000 were killed.  And if that wasn’t enough, he had one of his generals rape the South, and send Scalawags and Carpetbaggers there to finish the job.  The job was so well done, and the South was so ravaged, that the wounds have never been healed to this day.

Obama, is like Lincoln.  He wants to increase the size and scope of government, and has managed, in less than four years, to add over $4 trillion to the nationals debt, and hire thousands of wormy bureaucrats, to make it ever more difficult to operate or start a business, and even live from day to day, so intense is and will be, the inflation.  We hope that the Obama regime doesn’t imitate Lincoln’s, and have a war started.  Lincoln’s war begat inflation by both the North and South, so much, that both currencies became worthless.  With the fed printing $85 bill a month till time indefinite, could our inflation, eventually be equal to the Confederates and the Greenbacks of 150 years ago?

If Obama continues to have his way, and make the central government even stronger and more lethal, could there be another war, and especially in the cities?  If handouts were cut, or the inflation got so bad that the money wouldn’t buy anything of value, could the riots break out?  Even if they weren’t cut, the inflation may cause riots in the cities.  Could we be approaching a time as bad as 150 years ago?  Has a President violated the Constitution, and made government and bureaucracy so bothersome and harassing, that people may take maters into their own hands?  Not a pleasant thought, is it?  I really think that the comparison between Lincoln and Obama cannot be dismissed.  Both went to unconsitutional means to have their way.  Both have fooled many into believing their methods were OK, and both have led their nation into a position which it may be unable to extricate itself from any time soon.  This election worries me.  If Obama wins, gold and silver will soar, as will gun sales, and for obvious reasons.

The recent fake gold bars that appeared at Diamond Row in New York, were so obviously a fake, that no one fell for them.  “Suisse” was the so-called hallmark on these amateurish fakes, and “Suisse” is simply Swiss-German for Switzerland, and is not representative of a government or bank.  I assume that mints will soon make bars which would be impossible to counterfeit.  In the mean time, don’t worry.  Our supplier gets the stuff directly from the mints.
