The Great Debate

I am writing this on Monday, to be put up Tuesday, and the debate is Wednesday.  Are you tired of hearing Obama talk about “Inheriting the Bush deficits and problems?”  I do hope that Mitt brings out the following truth, and thanks to Bobb for sending it to me!  I thought the Bush second term was a disaster for getting us into Iraq and Afghanistan, but economically, he was OK.

The Democrats did NOT take over January, 2009 as Obama likes to say.  The Democrats took over both houses on January of 2007, leaving George Bush virtually powerless to control the budget and economic matters.  January 3, 2007, was the date that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee, and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

Those committees then dumped $5-6 trillion dollars worth of toxic loans on the economy, by forcing banks to loan to unworthy borrowers, backed by Fanny and Freddy.  Bush had begged seventeen times to rein in Fanny and Freddy, but the Congress refused, and especially when they got control of both Houses.

Budgets ands spending comes from the House of Representatives, not the White House.  After the Democrats got control of both houses in 2007, they held sway over spending, and Bush was virtually powerless to stop their spending in 2008 and 2009, and especially in 2009, when Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed Bush with ’continuing resolutions’ to keep the government running till Obama took office.  At that time, they passed a monstrous spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets, and the spending has only gotten worse in the last 3 1/2 years, with no budget at all.  Just spend, spend, spend.  If Obama ’inherited’ a deficit, it was his own Democrats’ deficit from the time they controlled spending while Bush was in office, but who had no control of the House and Senate.

Unemployment under Bush was 4.6%, and when the Democrats took over both Houses, that ended 52 straight months of job growth.  I am so terribly tired of the Obama lies and exaggerations, which are really difficult to answer, because they change so often and are so general.  Mitt should be a pretty good debater, since he has done it so much.

The debates will change things, we can hope, and the Las Vegas odds are totally in favor of Mitt winning.  He’s not my guy, and one wag said he’d vote for Ahmadinejad, just to get Obama out.  No one can get everything they want, and most of us can’t get even a lot of things we want, and this includes a candidate I am sure.  The Libertarian would be my guy, and I may vote for him anyway if the odds improve for Mitt, but if they stay close, I’ll vote for him.  ANYTHING TO GET OBAMA OUT!

We can also hope that in the debates, Mitt will stop being a wimp, and get to the point about Obama and his record.  Gas prices are double what they were when Obama was elected, and unemployment close to double.  Food stamps, and handouts have increased unbelievably.  Why did he lose his license to practice law, and his wife also?  Why did he think it necessary to issue 923 Executive Orders in 3 1/2 years, when Bush issued 62 in eight years?  How many billions have the fantastic Obama vacations cost the taxpayers?  How much do all the ’czars’ cost, and what purpose do they serve?  Why is campaigning more important than meeting with Heads of State?  Lots of questions could be asked, which would be very embarrassing to Obama.  Obama wants Mitt to divulge more than a year’s tax returns, and yet America knows less about him than any other President in history. Will the underclass, welfare recipients and non-productive sector of America, vote the productive sector out of control?  Will November Sixth be the day America turns its face on its glorious history?  Will November sixth, be the time when the balance of power switches from strong, free, independent, smart citizens, to those who choose not to work, not to learn English, and depend on handouts from a bankrupt government?  A government which got that way by politicians of both parties, and Presidents of both parties. No mater who wins November sixth, America possibly can be saved by Tea Party candidates, who will not slow their goal, which is to bring America back, and elect patriotic, economically sound, Representatives and Senators..  Stay tuned.  This is America’s future at stake.
