Everything and everyone, needs to justify their existence. Even in the animal kingdom, animals justify their existence, because they serve a purpose. Scavenger birds, and fish, eat the droppings or dead bodies, to keep their environment clean. I am at a loss to explain mosquitoes, but I am sure they have a purpose. However, let’s examine the human existence, and ignore the animals, because we live here, not in the water or on the ground.
Businesses justify their existence, because they serve their customers at a profit, and provide what their customers need and want. Be it a barber shop, super market, tire dealer, or any business which sells, fixes, or manufactures items, hopefully at a profit for their owners and operators, they easily justify their existence. If they cease to exist, as have many businesses and restaurants of late, it is because of a shrinking economy, and the justification for their existence, was surely marginal, and when the economy shrunk, they went out. Owners of business buildings, want a return on their investments in physical properties, so they collect rents, thereby justifying their investments.
Railroads justify their existence, by transporting freight and at a profit for their shareholders. AMTRAK cannot justify its existence, because it shows no profit, and sucks taxpayer money each year by many billions of dollars. Bus lines such as Greyhound, struggle to exist, even though their highways are subsidized by the taxpayers. Trailways couldn’t make it, and is long gone or merged with Greyhound. Auto dealerships come and go, but government forced many GM and Chrysler dealerships out of existence, even though they were profitable. Government never does ANYTHING profitable, or even sensible, it seems. Where I live, a long time Jeep dealership, which had been in existence for decades and was profitable, was forced out of business, and its line given to a Chrysler dealership a half mile away. Dumb and outrageous. (Government cannot be sued unless it gives its permission. Make sense?)
Parents easily justify their existence, because they beget and raise their offspring, and this includes not only humans but animals, fish, and birds. Clothing manufacturers provide clothing and make a profit, as do the trucks which deliver them to the retail outlet. Book publishers print books, pay royalties to authors, and sell books, all at a profit, which justifies their existence.
As far as the human life is concerned, and all that goes with it, if an enterprise of any kind, shows a PROFIT, it has automatically justified its existence. Parents, grandparents, and male and females of animals, fish, and birds justify their existence, because they allow their race and breed to continue its existence. Private schools justify their existence, because they do an excellent job of educating, and at a profit. Public schools, like all government institutions, cannot justify their existence, because they show no profit, educate poorly, and at a huge cost to taxpayers. Everyone knows that since the advent of public schools about a hundred years ago, education achievement has plummeted.
What then, has integrated itself into our lives, without our permission, and which entity cannot possibly justify its existence?
Government, aside from the very few things it does a minimal cost to taxpayers, such as fire and police departments, road maintenance, etc, cannot justify its existence, and especially at the federal level. What happens, is this: A politician wants to keep his job in his plush office with its power and glory. He must justify his existence, so he invents, or in some way finds a ’problem,’ which has nothing whatsoever to do with government, the Constitution, or force. Poverty, Illness, and the environment, have been the favorite subjects, along with hundreds of variations on them. The politicians, along with thousands of bureaucrats, then invent programs and pass laws, at huge costs to taxpayers, and pretend to solve the problems they have invented. The result, is an ever larger and larger government, which costs more and more. None of this can possibly justify its existence. Programs show no profit, aren’t needed, weaken the populace, and brainwashes them into believing that government has helped them, rather than harming them.
One example of maybe hundreds: Government discovered a big ozone cloud, which has been in existence for a million years probably, and was simply nature’s way of doing things. “We have to eliminate that cloud, and it must be caused by Freon in refrigerators and air conditioners. Let’s make everyone eliminate Freon 12 and Freon 22, We’ll invent Freon 134, to save that cloud. We’ll make everyone comply, regardless of cost, and pretend it will remove the cloud. We’ll make all refrigeration tradesmen seize every bit of Freon, when they service and repair refrigeration units. It’ll cost them a bundle, but we must eliminate that cloud, even though we have no idea of why it is there, for how long, or what harm it can possibly do. We’ll pass laws, and make everyone pay and comply. Sure, it will raise the cost of refrigeration and repairs, but to hell with that. The new Freon we developed isn’t nearly as efficient as the one we forced out, but we are the government scientists, and we have power.” That ozone cloud is still there, still no threat to any one, and citizens have had to pay hundreds of billions of dollars, for a government snafu, which obviously cannot justify its existence.
We have arrived at our current situation, with enormous debts, enormous government, huge taxes, more poverty than ever before, unemployment, economic crashes, virtually worthless paper money, and ever more intrusive government. We are approaching the true communist system, and subservience to an all powerful, and all knowing government, which cannot justify its existence.. Government feels very threatened by the quarter billion firearms in American possession, so it tries to confiscate them.
SHOCKING NEW INFORMATION
Under Obamacare, if a senior goes to his doctor, the doctor is forced to ask his patient how many guns he has ! Could there be any better way to attempt confiscation? If a Veteran goes to a Veteran’s hospital for injury or even to get some medicine, he is asked five seemingly harmless questions, such as “Do you ever get tense?” “Are you ever nervous?” If the answer to any of these questions is “Yes,” I have been told that that will take the carry gun permit away. Big Brother is flying drones over cities, and installing devices under our skin and in the products we buy, to trace our every action. Nothing can possibly justify this, any more than can a welfare system and handouts possibly be justified for their existence. They only weaken America.
Saved By The Bell
Victorians had a dreaded fear of being buried alive, and postponed burial as long as possible, in case the person wasn’t really dead. It became common to install a bell with a sting attached to it, in case a buried one was indeed alive, so he could pull the string and be “saved by the bell.” Other devices allowed the alive but buried person to work a device to spring open the coffin. Most of these devices were costly, and available only to the wealthy classes, but in 1852, George Bateson invented and patented the “Bateson Life Revival Device,” which was supposed to be effective, but low enough in price, to be available to the middle classes.
“Bateson’s Belfry,” as it was ordinarily known, was a plain iron bell, mounted on the lid of the casket, over the deceased’s head, and connected by a cord or wire through the coffin to the dead person’s hand, “such that the least tremor shall directly sound the alarm.” Bateson’s belfries attained instant popularity, and within a few years, a substantial proportion of coffins were fitted with the bells. During this period, three thousand people died daily in London alone, and business was brisk. As a kind of odd footnote to the story, Bateson himself lived in mortal terror of being buried alive, and caused his workshop to fabricate increasingly complex alarm systems for installation on his own coffin after he died. By 1867, his preoccupation left him quite insane, and he rewrote his will, directing his family to cremate him at his death. Suspecting that his instructions would not be followed, in the spring of 1868, he doused himself with linseed oil in his workshop, set himself aflame, and died by self immolation.
The public has always been fooled by bells on caskets, ozone clouds, public schools, and myriad schemes and frauds, mostly instigated by costly government, which in 99% of the time cannot justify its existence by showing a profit, and if there is no profit, other than in human or animal classes, there is no justification for its existence. Please justify dozens of “Czars,” a “Department of Education,” many cabinet posts, or for than matter a “cabinet” at all, since it is not mentioned in the Constitution. “Executive Orders” are not mentioned in the Constitution either, and neither are welfare systems, Social Security, Medicare, or wars not officially declared by Congress. The primrose path we unconstitutionally trod, can only lead to total bankruptcy, total government control, and joining hands with communist-socialistic failures around the world. Why is government so utterly either stupid or evil? Take your choice, but for goodness sakes, protect yourself!
P.S. I checked out the Wounded Warriors outfit (woundedwarriorsproject.org), and I am impressed! They managed to get $41 million in free advertising, 82.5% goes to benefits, with 13% advertising, which means no one is getting rich from them, including, as in Red Cross, huge salaries for CEO, etc.
