I am writing this a few days after the D.C. Navy Yard shooting took place. I am not at all certain that the now dead shooter’s examination by the media is true. They got a lot of it totally wrong. Was he was a nut case? Maybe, and maybe not. We must remember that the ultimate goal of the Democrats, Obama, ACLU, etc is to be like Australia, where owning a gun is illegal, and most have been picked up. The gun death rate in Australia per 100,000 population is .13, whereas in the U.S. it is .10. Where do the Aussies get their guns, since all have supposedly been picked up and it is illegal to own one? I am writing this, to counteract the slew of anti-gun rhetoric that is sure to follow the Navy yard case.
There are about 7600 gun deaths in the U.S. each year, and 55% are from suicides. An unknown number from householders or storekeeps protecting themselves, accidental discharges resulting in deaths, or law enforcement killings. Each month in NRA magazines, there is a full page of stories taken from newspapers, about people shooting plug uglies to protect themselves, even from wild animals on occasion. I am not the skilled writer that NRA writers are, nor do I have their facts at hand, but a casual bit of research shows the following:
There were 1960 Railroad crossing accidents in a year, resulting in 271 deaths and 930 injuries. Let’s make trains illegal. We’ve got to stop these deaths.
6,000 die from falls each year. Let’s make falling illegal. We’ve got to stop these deaths.
3,000 die in fires each year. Let’s make fire illegal. We’ve got to stop these deaths.
5,000 die from poisonings each year, from bad food or other. Lets make poison and bad food illegal. We’ve got to stop these deaths.
1,000 die from airway obstruction each year, which means simply choking to death. Let’s make choking illegal. We’ve got to stop these deaths.
800 die from drowning each year. let’s make drowning illegal. Bathtubs and swimming pools too? We’ve got to stop these deaths.
158,000 die from lung cancer each year. let’s make smoking illegal. We’ve got to stop these deaths.
In England, since the guns were picked up and made illegal, the death rate by guns has shrunk a bit, but the violent crime death has skyrocketed.
It’s easy to kill with a baseball bat, or some other violent method, often used everywhere in the world.
The beauty of a gun, is that it offers long distance protection, with no physical contact necessary. Someone coming at you with a knife? Shoot him long before he can attack. A wild animal coming at you? Shoot it before it can kill you. Someone breaking into your house? Shoot him and shoot him dead. Empty your gun, and save all that court time. He doesn’t deserve to live.
California has the most severe and all encompassing gun control laws in America. California’s death rate from guns per 100,000, is 3.25. In Utah, which has virtually no gun control laws, it is .97.
A quote from page 48 of the NRA’s “Freedom” magazine, says, :”The nation’s violent crime rate hit an all time high in 1991 and thereafter declined in 18 of the next 20 years. 49% overall, to a 41 year low in 2011. This decline includes a 52 percent decrease in the nation’s murder rate. All this happened, even as the number of privately owned firearms and the number of states with right-to-carry laws rose to an all time high.”
After the Navy Yard murders, gun and ammo purchases went through the roof in D.C., as they did when Obama first got elected, and again when he got re-elected. There are a quarter billion firearms in private hands in America, which should give comfort to one and all.
Here’s a funny which was sent to me, and you will get a laugh out of it, I am certain.
Bob: “Did you hear about the Obama administration scandal?”
Jim: “You mean the Mexican gun running?”
Bob: “No, the other one.”
Jim: “You mean the drones in our own country, without the benefit of the law?”
Bob: No, the other one.”
Jim: “You mean the State Department lying about Benghazi?”
Bob: “No, the other one.”
Jim: “You mean the voter fraud?”
Bob: “No, the other one.”
Jim: “You mean the military not getting their votes counted?”
Bob: “No, the other one.”
Jim: “You mean NSA monitoring our phone calls, e-mails, and everything else?”
Bob: “No, the other one.”

Bob: “No, the other one.”
Jim:” I give up! Oh wait, I think I’ve got it. You mean the 65 million, low-information voters who don’t pay taxes and get free stuff from taxpayers and stuck us again with the most pandering, corrupt, administration in American history?”
Bob “THAT’S THE ONE!”
P.S. It appears, once again, that the Muslim religion, which calls it the religion of peace, is just the opposite. The hundreds of thousands of deaths in Muslim nations doesn’t give one the impression of peace, and especially when Sunnis kill Shiites with abandon, and the reverse. In Kenya, we still don’t know how many Muslims killed, but in order to stay alive, a potential victim had to recite a Muslim prayer or know the Prophet’s wife’s name, or be killed. Christians and Jews seem to be the peace keepers, not Muslims!
