Dying by Degrees (Part Two)

Dying by degrees, many times, may not be evident to the masses, and that is totally true, as our nation slowly dies, as have all other nations which preceded us.  It has been said that the average age of a nation before it is replaced by another as the leader, is about 200 years  Ours is about 37 years late, but is still clinging to life.  In this segment, we’ll examine the results of what FDR and his Democrats started, and how it has multiplied over the years.  There is no doctor or hospital one can take a nation to, and get a diagnosis or prognosis.  As the Declaration of Independence says, “We hold these truths to be self evident.”  I think our slow death is self evident, but you decide for yourself.

My wife and I have two spoiled little dogs.  Getting loved, spoiled dogs, un-spoiled, is virtually impossible.  The pain watching them be unhappy, would be difficult to take, even though it might be good for them.  Spoiled kids, dogs, and people, are bad news.  The temptation for politicians to vote gifts from the public treasury, for poor, sick, jobless, disabled, or possibly even unhappy voters, is irresistible, as the last 80 years has proven.  Public housing, was invented by Roosevelt, as part of his “New Deal,” which was part of his “Industrial Recovery Act,” passed in June of 1933, and the “Public Works Administration” section, called for “Construction, reconstruction, alteration or repair, under public regulation or control, of low cost housing and slum clearance projects.”  That let the cat out of the bag, and millions of cats have been flooding the nation ever since.  As I have said before, anything “public,” has a bad image to it, and especially rest rooms and housing.  Slums were not cleared, but created.  Wherever a housing ’project’ was built, slums blossomed around it.  That was true when the first was built in 1933, and around any being built or existing since.  The inhabitants of such  projects, pay little or no rent, multiply and copulate like barnyard animals or rabbits, and condemn their offspring, which usually copulate and multiply in the same manner and velocity.  The Department of Health and Human Services, costs close to a trillion dollars a year.

There is no question, that public housing residents are basically worthless, and not workers who provide for their own selves and families.  Liberals will say,  ’it is not their fault,’ but that can be said of any person at any time, if something in their life goes awry.  It strengthens a person, to overcome obstacles, poverty, hardship, misfortune, or whatever may befall one.  It weakens a nation, when a government, “Takes from the haves, and gives it to the have nots, who need it so much,” as Lyndon Baines Johnson once said in his Presidency.  Practically everyone ’needs’ something they don’t have.  The word ’need’ can have many meanings, and it is not government’s job to satisfy anyone’s ’needs.’  It is government’s Constitutional job to protect its citizens, not support them or take care of their ’needs.’  80 years of many ’housing bills,’ and millions of public housing units, have bankrupted both the government that builds and pays for them, and bankrupted the residents, by relieving them of caring for themselves.  It has bankrupted the taxpayers who must pay for the projects, and debased the currency, when it is printed for the public housing, because taxes are never enough.

It is not government’s job to feed the populace, nor to provide them with cell phones.  Food stamps are now used by over 47 million people, and the costs and character debasement are severe.  It is not government’s job to provide anything but protection and justice, and certainly not health care, or prescriptions.  When Medicare and Medicaid went in, the population was further weakened.  It is not a Constitutionally permitted job of government, to provide ’free’ education.  Nothing provided by government is free, but comes from taxes, deficit spending, and borrowing.  ’Free’ things provided by government, are always of inferior quality, as government housing and education easily prove.

America then, is being over-run with inferior, dependent, poorly educated, free-loaders, who wouldn’t dream of voting for a politician who didn’t promise them free goods and services from the public treasury.  These promises have been made throughout the last  80 years, by both Democrats and Republicans.  Possibly more promises have been made and legislated by Democrats, but the sins of both are legend.  America is dying by degrees, because of economic and population degradation, both caused, by the citizenry being conned to vote for thirsty politicians, promising everything they can, for the voting dopes.  The gifts are issued easier each year and term, because the mentality, stability, and work ethic of the citizenry, is constantly eroding, and dependence increasing.

The old expression, “If you give a man a fish, you will feed him for a day, but if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime,” has been changed by one wag, to: “If you give a man a welfare check, free cell phone, internet, food stamps, section 8 housing, contraceptives, ninety-nine weeks of unemployment, health care and medicine, he will vote Democrat for the rest of his life, and several more times after he’s dead.”

On November 4, 1949, the New York Daily News printed this poem:

” Father, I must go to work

     No, my lucky son.

We’re living now on Easy Street.

    On dough from Washington.

We’ve left it up to Uncle Sam,

    So don’t get exercised.

Nobody gives a damn-

   We’ve all been subsidized.

But if Sam treats us all so well

And feeds us milk and honey,

Please tell me daddy, what the hell

He’s going to use for money?

Don’t worry Bub, there’s not a hitch

    In this here noble plan-

He simply soaks the filthy rich,

    And helps the common man.

But father, won’t there come a time

When they run out of cash

And we have left them not a dime

When things will go to smash?

My faith in you is shrinking, son,

    You nosy little brat;

You do too damn much thinking son,

    To be a Democrat.”

(Whoever wrote that little ditty, wasn’t nominated for a Nobel Prize in poetry)
