We have been hearing about Edward Snowden for months now. He’s the low level employee who mysteriously managed to download thousands of pages of incredibly incriminating evidence against the federal government and the NSA or ’National Security Agency.’ Charles Krauthammer calls him a ’traitor,’ and for once, I totally disagree with that brilliant commentator. Is a ’whistleblower’ a traitor, when he exposes corruption in any government, or for that matter a business? Many whistleblowers receive a reward for their information, which may save the public or government lots of money and corruption. Actually, I am of the opinion that the Obama Administration is probably the most corrupt American administration in our 200 plus year history.
I think Snowden is a hero! Without Snowden, we might never have heard of the NSA, not found out about our every call and location being recorded and saved for endless years in massive files. I keep pretty much abreast of goings on, but the NSA and it’s unconstitutional activities, was never known to me or anyone else for that matter. Thanks Edward Snowden! Nietzsche wrote: “Here is a hero who did nothing but shake the tree when the fruit was ripe. Do you think that was a small thing to do? Well, just look at the tree he shook.” ’Fiat justitia, pereat caelum,’ (let justice be done though the heavens fall). The government corruption exposed by Snowden, was waiting for him to shake the tree, and the rottenness seemingly has only begun to be exposed.
I feel sorry for him now, since he is having a difficult time finding a place to live, or a nation which will accept him. No wonder! He has exposed the fact that the U.S. government has been spying on everyone. Private cell phone calls and private information and communications of every national ruler and government on earth. I am reminded of the patriot Nathan Hale, who volunteered to spy for George Washington during the Revolution. He was captured and hung…for his country.
Is Snowden a patriot? I think so. He downloaded millions of words and documents which exposed his nation’s government, as being corrupt and even evil. Did he do it for a profit? I doubt it. Who would buy it? No one. After he releases yet another dastardly action by the American Government, the news media picks it up, but he gets no reward. He is now broke and homeless.
Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch, and more recently Freedom Watch, filed suit in Federal District Court, charging that “Watch every call,” was totally unconstitutional, and judge Leon agreed, and wrote, condemning it, “I cannot imagine a more indiscriminate and arbitrary invasion than this systematic and high-tech collection and retention of personal data on virtually every single citizen, for purposes of querying it and analyzing it without judicial approval.” While the suit was in progress, the NSA hounded Klaymn, and tracked him constantly. Various people received e-mails from him which he never sent. I repeat, in my opinion, the Obama Administration, is probably the most corrupt in American History, and I will add that I think President Obama has told more outright lies than any other President, and perhaps more than all of them combined.
My Wife and I, plus two small dogs, are going to Texas for the month of January. We’re going take our motor home and car, go to an RV park, and explore the country around it for a week, then go to another park, explore, etc, or probably four parks or more. We think we can do the whole state in a month! Obviously no columns for the month of January! Please have the most marvelous and loving Christmas, from all four of us!
