We have just lowered our rates! We now charge 1% for all orders under $50,000, 3/4% between $50,000 and $100,000, and .5% over $100,000, as before. We cannot change the $25 small order charge, as it is charged by our supplier, not us. No more 1.25% for orders under $25,000. We are either returning all cards with customer names, address and purchases, or destroying them. The ATF has been raiding gun shops and seizing their customer records. We will have none from now on, and when you buy from us, we will have to get your name and address each time!
I Don’t like anything that has the prefix “Public” attached to it, and this includes public restrooms, public housing, and the theme of this harassment, “Public Medicine.” Public Medicine? What’s that? You see and hear it every single day when the fire engines go by. They’re always accompanied by fire department ambulances, paid for by you and me. I am a fire buff, and have great respect for firemen. When I lived in Philly, I was in the “Second Alarmers’ Association, and could usually be found at multiple alarm fires with camera in hand, when I wasn’t dispensing doughnuts and coffee for exhausted firemen. Firemen are brave beyond belief, and when they give their life in a fire, it’s usually in a neighborhood which is decayed and inhabited by trash of no particular race. Hundreds of times, firemen are pelted with rocks when they answer an alarm, by those whose life and property they are attempting to save or rescue. Funerals for deceased fire fighters always brings a tear to my eyes, as the body is carried on the pumper, followed by marching firemen with black arm bands.
Why is it that firemen cannot be firemen any longer, but must be an EMT (emergency medical technician) or other medical person? Every fender bender in 95% of cities and towns, results in a pumper and ambulance in attendance, paid for by taxpayers. Firemen used to be firemen. Brave firemen, who fought fires and risked their lives. I have no problems with municipal supported fire fighters, because a fire can easily spread to adjacent buildings. Private fire fighting, is fraught with problems. A couple of decades ago, in Southern Maryland, a house caught fire, and the home owner called the fire number, which was 100% volunteer, as is the case in most small towns. When the volunteers arrived, they discovered that the burning home was across the road from their jurisdiction, and they let it burn to the ground. How disgusting! Firemen used to be trained to be just that, and not dispensers of public medicine.
In Grand Junction Colorado, a decade ago, the private ambulance company was forced out of business, when the fire department decided to go into the public medicine ’business,’ and attend every fender bender or serious accident The privately held ambulance company was well staffed with medical technicians, had modern equipment, and did a fine job, but it was forced out of business by government. You dislike public housing, and public restrooms? Why then, don’t you cringe when you see a fire engine followed by a fire department ambulance? Does the fire department bill when their ambulance operates? Yes, but in one location I know of, the bills are paid by but 38% of those billed, and the rest is from our pockets. Why is it necessary for every single auto accident, no matter how trivial, to be attended by an engine company and ambulance?
The budgets of fire departments skyrocketed when public medicine was made part of the operation. All the private, for profit, ambulance companies are long gone, and replaced by fire department ambulances, paid for by taxpayers. I certainly do not mind being taxed for fire protection, but I resent paying for public medicine, as dispensed by fire departments. If medical attention is needed, the police on the scene could easily call for a private, for profit, medical team and equipment, thereby saving hundreds of millions of tax dollars around the country every year. I want brave firemen to fight fires and protect our property and lives, not administer first aid or medical treatment, when it could be done by private, for profit companies, who would be on the scene just as quickly, and do just as good a job, saving taxpayers’ money.
Know The Difference?
Socialism: You have two cows. You are forced to give one to your neighbor,
Communism: You have two cows. Government takes both, and gives you milk.
Fascism: You have two cows. Government takes both, and sells you milk.
Nazism: You have two cows. Government takes both, and shoots you.
Bureaucracy: You have two cows. Government takes both of them, shoots one, milks the other, and pours the milk down the drain.
Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull. (From a 1975 Financial Times.)
Putin’s Shortest Speech
On August 4, 2013, Vladimir Putin, Russian President, gave this speech to the Russian Duma (parliament), and he got a five minute standing ovation when he finished.
“Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia; to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslims, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell, ’discrimination.’ We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland, and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Muslims are taking over those countries, and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible, with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the Russian National interest first, observing that the Muslim Minorities are not Russians.”
Happy St. Pat’s Day to all you Sons of Erin!
