William of Ocham, (1285-1349) was a Brit who invented a rule, which has been plagiarized, modified, interpreted, and applied, a thousand different ways, in lots of languages, but the basic wording of “Occam’s Razor” is, “Entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily.”  Some think a better definition is, “The simplest way is the best way,” and I can’t disagree with either of them.  Neither simplicity, nor unnecessary multiplying of government, bureaucracy, taxes, laws, rules, and regulations, apply to Washington D.C., home of corruption, payoffs, hangers on, groupies, and lawyers, to mention but a few of the possible hundreds of descriptions of those working in and living near that cesspool, which I am ashamed to admit I was born in and grew up in…Washington D.C.  However, when I was a kid, D.C. was a pretty nice place to live, as opposed to now, where an ex-mayor druggie once said that D.C. had a low crime rate if it weren’t for the murders.

Suppose Occam’s Razor were to be put into effect in D.C.  What would happen?  These are the ways I would put it into effect.  First of all, there would be no welfare of any kind at the federal level.  If a state wanted to hand out its money, that would be up to them.  Hundreds of billions saved, and thousands of laid off government employees.  Second, would be to bring all the troops home from everywhere they are, in the hundred plus bases around the world.  I want the most sophisticated arms anywhere…to protect us, and not used anywhere else, nor sold to anyone.  More hundreds of billions saved each year, and more thousands of federal layoffs.  Troops would be stationed at the U.S. Mexican border, and there would be no illegals coming in.  No more subsidies to anyone or any corporation, business, or individual, with more savings of hundreds of billions and thousands of government employees laid off.  I would abolish the EPA, Department of Education, Department of Transportation, IRS, just for a beginning, and basically cut about 95% of government as fast as would be possible.  Hundreds of billions saved each year.  No more regulations, “Czars,” Obamacare, ATF, NSA or TSA.  Airlines, as before, would once again control their own safety.  No more ’earmarks’, or un-balanced budgets.  Congress would be REQUIRED to read every bill they vote on, and take a test to see if they read it in its entirety.  That would slow the legislative process, I am sure, and it’s about time!

Occam’s Razor’a result, of course, would be hundreds of thousands of unemployed federal bureaucrats, regulation writers, and office workers.  Too bad.  They can collect unemployment for, I think it’s two years, isn’t it?  That will give them time to try to convince an employer of their desirability and efficiency, after working for Uncle Sam.  (It might be a difficult persuasion, but that would be their problem).  With no income taxes, Uncle Sam could live off the proceeds he had before the 16th Amendment was NOT passed, but the Supremes said it had.  (Kentucky did not approve).  More hundreds of thousands of jobs lost, and in the private sector too, as accountants and other pencil pushers would no longer be necessary, giving business and individuals, blessed relief from tax laws no one can understand.

My Occam’s Razor America, would be completely neutral, and would not give any foreign aid or even advice.  That would fix any terrorism threat.  Israel is wealthy, and probably the best armed nation on earth, and can defend itself.  Everyone else?  Who cares?  Imagine the prosperity!  Imagine the happiness!  No corporate taxes, no minimum wages, no ’depreciation’ or the myriad tax problems everyone went through a few days ago.  Relief from federal anything and everything.  Social Security would remain, but no new entries, and everyone 45 or under, would get a refund for all they had been forced to ’contribute.’  Medicare also would remain, but no new entries.  More thousands of jobs gone in D.C.  Those fancy government buildings would be sold to private enterprise, to help pay off the national debt, and all other federal properties sold as well.  I’m ambivalent about the National Parks remaining in government hands.  Maybe yes, and maybe no.   No federal building codes or regulations.  States would use their own, which might be the same everywhere, but no federal regulations or controls on building.  No more surveillance, drones, and phone tapping by government

Under my Occam’s Razor, the United Nations would be removed from American shores, and we would resign our membership and support.  We would remove ourselves from the International Monetary Fund, and World Bank, and of course our support of hundreds of billions each year.  There would be no more Federal Reserve, and the Treasury would no longer borrow dollars created out of thin air, and pay interest to the Fed.  English would be the language we speak, and no citizenship would be granted to anyone not speaking and writing it fluently.  All voters would present a photo ID, and paper ballots would be compulsory.  Without a paper ballot, there can’t be a fair election.  The FBI would be disbanded as would the CIA.  The Tenth Amendment would be paramount and followed fully.  State governments might grow a bit, but probably not much.  The states would compete with each other, as far as laws, taxes, and regulations, as the Founders planned at the beginning.  No more Department of Labor, issuing fake statistics, and no more Federal Railroad Administration or AMTRAK.  Railroads did just fine for 150 years before the fed got involved.  If passenger trains can be profitable, let the railroads run them, like they did for over a hundred years.

Most ignoramuses reading this will be appalled, and think to themselves that, ’We have to have a federal government and regulations.’  Really?  What on earth for, may I ask.  The prosperity America enjoyed before the government grew like a cancer, is not remembered by youth.  Want a great quote?  Try this one:  “How fortunate for governments that the people they administer, don’t think” – Adolph Hitler.

         Bundy Ranch Continued

The Bundys haven’t quoted the Constitution when they say they will pay the State of Nevada all the state wants for grazing rights.  Let me quote that sacred document.  From Article One, Section Eight:  “…(The government shall) exercise authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the same shall be, for the erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards and other needful buildings.”  In other words, Does the BLM have a deed or title from the State of Nevada for the land it claims to own?  No!  The Constitution says that government may own “Places” or buildings, to erect forts, etc.  The Constitution says that the State of Nevada owns the land, not BLM, and this applies to National Forests too.  It’s a Constitutional issue, pure and simple.  This column is merely quoting the Constitution, which does not permiot the BLM and National Forests, or the enormous expansion of government in the last 80 years.  FDR started it, and it has continued and metastasized just like a cancer, which has enfeebled the populace.  If this goes to the Supremes, would they dare to realize the unconstitutionality of the National Forests, and BLM lands?  I have sent a check to “Bundy Ranch”, O. Box 7175, Bunkerville, NV 89007.  Why don’t you?
