I’ve had plenty of calls about re-printing my 23 year old book, “I hold These Truths,” which I can deliver to someone for $9.95. Printer says it will take from 6 to 8 weeks. I’ll have it on web site when it is finished and available! Thanks for your numerous calls! One caller said that I didn’t mention plastic trash. That’s because I don’t imagine plastic was that popular then, but I’d think the plastic should be separated, and turned into park benches, or re-cycled in some way!
I think quality in anything is important and appealing, at least to me. I like Mercedes-Benz cars, Lieca cameras, prime beef, Evan-Williams bourbon, and gold and silver money. I live in a quality nation…sort of anyway, but still better than any other place on earth, after visiting some of them. Our Founders allowed immigration, and immigration happened throughout our history. Ellis Island was the funnel which millions of immigrants passed through, on their way to becoming citizens. However, that funnel of entry was blocked, unless the potential immigrant had a sponsor, a job waiting, and was in good health. Millions, literally, were turned away because of any of the aforementioned requirements. America became a literal melting pot of mostly European immigrants.
Mexicans crossed the border by the thousands each year, and were somehow inculcated into the American dream, but very few, until the welfare system was inaugurated by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) who, along with Abe Lincoln, LBJ, 2nd term George Bush, and Obama, were and one still is, the worst of American Presidents. What would be the point of crossing into America? Mexico had silver coinage just like America, and gold as well. The Mexican government was not corrupt as it is now, and there was no welfare here, or jobs either, other than for a couple of months a year harvesting American crops, which was allowed. There was no “press one for English” then, nor was Spanish spoken here. There was no attraction or reason for crossing the border from Mexico. America was a fine place! There wre no lower classes as is beautifully illustrated in the book I urged you to obtain, (The Unheavenly City), and a book I hope you got.
America’s quality has steadily deteriorated since the days of FDR, when it became possible to exist without working. Private charities and religious charities existed to help the unfortunate, but they usually required work of some sort, for them to subsidize. Homelessness was unheard of before FDR, because in order to eat and exist, one had to fare for one’s self, or die. I have no quarrel with that, and it merely follows Mother Nature, who has never sucked the life blood out of healthy animals, to keep sick or lazy ones alive, as is the custom today. America’s churches, charities, and people, gave when needed to those who needed it, but were not forced to give without their permission through heavy taxation.
When Congress realized, since FDR, that one can garner votes by promising feeding at the public trough and public housing, they began to realize that welfare was a real vote getter. Since then, all sorts of vote getting freebies have been offered, and gladly accepted, by the trash lower classes. Now, utilities are subsidized, free cell phones, TV’s, food, housing, and transportation are all the rage, supplied by Democrats and RINOS, (Republicans in name only). Democrats have discovered a new source of votes, besides sucking the lifeblood out of us taxpayers, and that is by allowing millions of Mexicans into the US, promising them safety and a warm welcome, plus eventual citizenship. Now, when you make a call to a bank, department store, credit card company, or TV ad, you have to “Press one for English.” The quality of America has declined rapidly, since Obama has taken office, but this is still the best place on earth.
Obviously, there are places where the cost of living is lower…in US Dollars…but how long can that last, if the dollar keeps going down in purchasing power, which it will? Let me get back to ’quality’ again, and as far as money is concerned. I said that I like quality in everything, and this includes money, which I called gold and silver as quality money. Why? Because its price in any currency, can be obtained, sold or bought in that currency, regardless of regardless currency’s value or condition. When the dollar was sound, gold was $20.67 an ounce for a hundred years, and silver $1.25 an ounce. Sound ridiculous? No more so, than 12 oz Pepsi Cola for a nickel, or a tin of Bayer Aspirin for a dime, which is what both were when, metals were that ’cheap,’ and dollars were sound. These items weren’t ’cheap’ at all, but the normal prices when the buck had some value. The dollar was a ’quality’ currency then, and its ’quality’ today, can be gauged by $3.75 a gallon gasoline, and $1300 gold. All things change, but quality money in gold and silver, are eternal, and in all currencies. They need no government backing.
The welfare system has made the Democrats and RINO’s win elections, which is what got us the lower classes, declining dollars, ruined cities, crime beyond all tally, and of course high prices. To show the value of gold and silver’s keeping up with inflation, you can still buy a gallon of gas for two silver dimes. Could there be any better proof?
P.S. I’m getting terribly tired of Islam violence around the world. Be it the Philippines, Nigeria, Iraq, Sudan, or anywhere Muslims are, rape, female genital mutilation, and violence of every shade, are common. In Mosul, either convert, pay (money not accepted), or leave. People who have been there their entire lives, have had everything they thought they owned, taken from them, beaten, jailed, and murdered. Islam a religion of peace and tranquility? When will the world realize that the Muslim religion is certainly NOT a religion of peace and tranquility. The Holy Koran, at 9:29, instructs Muslims to “Fight those who believe not in Allah…” Did the Prophet really mean for Muslims to create violence around the world? Is Islam a ’quality’ faith?
