The GDP

I wrote about the GDP (Gross National Product) in 2008, but was reminded of it again this morning (July 30th) when Fox Business exclaimed that the GDP has gone up 4%!!  The stock market went down immediately. It went down close to a thousand points. Does this mean that everyone out there is not stupid?  After all, you can’t fix stupid, which most seem to be…except those who read these columns and save in quality money…of course.  The GDP used to be the GNP (Gross National Product), but it was changed.  Maybe the D.C. Drones can fake figures easier this way?  At first glance, the average TV sit-com watching, football fan, non reading, shallow thinking person, will think that’s good.  Whoopee!  The GDP is up 4%.  Let’s all have a beer.

Unfortunately, the GDP INCLUDES GOVERNMENT SPENDING.  In other words, it might be possible that the few factories left, have made more, or that the populace’s credit cards may not be at limit, and they bought some stuff.  Possibly, but for a certainty,  government spending, probably went up 3.99%.  More were on disability, food stamps,  Section 8 housing, public housing, and welfare in all its hundreds if not thousands of variations.  Obama, by unconstitutional ’executive order,’ may have given the Hotentots in Lower Slobovia a couple of billion.  After all, he is proud of the fact that he ’has a pencil and telephone,’ isn’t he?  I am sure also, that various unconstitutional bureaucracies have doled out billions for the preservation of ugly mice and fish, and of course body searching of 3 year old children or 85 year old grandmas, before allowing them to board a plane.  Then the NTSB has to spend $45,000 investigating why a single engine plane ran out of gas and crashed, or maybe a million or more, to find out why a truck decided to cross a track, ignoring the red crossing lights and bells, and had a train crash into it.  Government at all levels is wasteful, but at the federal level, it is so absurd that if it weren’t so tragic, it might be comical.

It’s the GDP going up 4%, that is responsible for the printing press money and computer generated money going into circulation at unprecedented rates.  Remember Stott’s Law.  “The more of anything there is, the less they will be worth,” and this includes dollars.  Just to illustrate, compare what has happened in just the last 14 years. In 2000, oil was $24.11, fuel oil $1.19, gasoline $1.27, eggs 97 cents a dozen, a stamp 33 cents, gold $278. and silver $4.95.  Today, oil is over $98, fuel oil $2.95, eggs $2.50 or more, gas is $3.65, gold $1295, and silver $20.50.  See what all thedollar printing does?  The federal government spends $23.4 billion in foreign aid, hundreds of millions each year goes to Palestine, wile we support Israel, will leave $7 billion worth of equipment in Afghanistan, and of course the trillion dollars spent in Iraq and Afghanistan, unconstitutionally, doesn’t help either.

Chapter 21 in “I Hold These Truths,” points out that everything we use, need, buy, manufacture, sell, or own, has NOTHING TO DO WITH GOVERNMENT.  If there were no D.C. bureaucrats, Congress, or President, we would still have homes, cars, TVs, computers, food, and electricity.  Government had nothing to do with anything I just mentioned.  Rather, they just get in the way, make silly rules and regulations, huge taxes on everything, give our money away after charging probably a 50% handling charge, and waste it incredibly.  I never voted for welfare, foreign wars, controls, regulations, or taxes.  Did you?  Bureaucracy operates as judge and jury, if they think we have violated their absurd rules and regulations.  They fine us, and it’s all totally unconstitutional!  Will we ever get rid of the scumbags in D.C., who never ran a hot dog stand, met a payroll, or understood profit and loss?  Thousands of regulations and rules are written, and the boobs who wrote them, haven’t the foggiest idea of the real world.  Why can’t we stop all this nonsense?  Is there going to be a revolution?  There needs to be!  Damn them, and Obama too.

P.S. Just read a good book.  “Blood Feud, the Clintons vs the Obamas.”  Very interesting, and tells a lot about both.  Bill Clinton, for example, has a bad heart and may die prematurely.  Hillary has lots of health problems and has passed out many times.  Obama is hopelessly inept and narcissistic, thinks he is king of the world and can do no wrong.  Valerie Jarrett virtually runs the country and Obama, when he allows it.  Michelle wants to run for Senate, and both couples fight constantly.  Lots of good stuff!
