Third Parties

Now that the elections re over, and Republicans are shouting loud hosannas, I happen to know how the Republicans could have done ever better.  Remember Ross Perot?  Remember George Wallace?  Know about Libertarians and Constitutionalists?  I am certain every one does, and that’s the point.  Here in Colorado, the Republican gubernatorial candidate, Bob Beauprez, lost by a mere 13,000 votes.  Know why?  Because of all the Libertarians, Constitutionalists,  and a few others, who decided that Beauprez wasn’t “conservative enough,” or some such specious reason.  I am a Libertarian, but a registered Republican.  I was Libertarian County Chair in Maricopa County Arizona (Phoenix) in the 1970’s, and am even a life member of the Libertarian Party.  That is nice, but it means NOTHING, as Libertarians will never win an election, except possibly for a local dog catcher.  Libertarians and the Libertarian Party have been around for many decades, and I agree with them 95%, but they never have, and never will win an election, so forget it!

Republicans have their own Libertarian branch, which seems to be getting more and more popular, and even powerful.  Examples of this are when Republicans took over the House, after two years of Obama and Democratic rules and actions.  That was done with the Republican branch of  Libertarians, and we are called the “The Party” branch, which is constantly alluded to by irritated liberal news casters.  The Tea Party branch of the Republicans, which are almost pure Libertarian, may save America, but not if odd ball conservative voters refuse to support the party.

America has ALWAYS been a two party state.  Ross Perot might have won if he hadn’t quit and come back.  Why did he quit, just as he was really going strong?  He said that Republicans had interfered with his daughters’ wedding, or some such nonsense, but he was probably threatened in some way, and when he came back, it was too late.  George Wallace had a good thing going as well, but he was shot and crippled, and that finished him.  America simply doesn’t want or like a third party, and history bears this out.  Why try to change it?  Of course, Republicans not of the Tea Party variety, make me ill, and I’d like to choke some of them, but the way to really literally save America, is to get rid of liberal, socialistic, communistic, non thinking, Democrats, and it will not happen if a small minority keep voting for obscure third parties, in some absurd hope that they could win.  “You should vote for your conscience, not for a party,” is the old, hackneyed excuse, and it is plain dumb.  If you care for America, then get Republican Tea Party candidates on ballots, contribute to them, work for them, and try to get them elected.

                Quack Quack

This, of course, means that Obama and his gory crowd are “Lame Ducks,” meaning that the Senate Democrat majority will be out in a couple of months, and most powers will have been taken from them.  Obama doesn’t see it that way, because he has said that the elections didn’t mean anything because so many didn’t vote.  Typical, and of course the next two years will be Republican’s job to make him and Democrats look foolish and silly, as they really are.  Republicans should not try to shut down the government, nor get rid of Obamacare, because any such efforts will give them a bad name and be vetoed.  The next two years will be a golden opportunity for Republicans to shine brilliantly, so as to easily defeat any Democrats, and including Hillary, if she has the nerve to run.

        Let’s Get Things Done

That’s the latest phrase being used.  Get what done?  More debts?  More Welfare?  More warfare?  Obama’s sending 1600 more troops, and probably a lot more?  He probably got permission from Iran’s Khomeini, after his secret letter writing.  Please let me tell you what I would like to ’get done.’  Here’s part of Chapter 49 of I “Hold These Truths.”  “I say the man for the job is the man who took a thousand laws off the books, fired a thousand bureaucrats, saved a billion dollars, eliminated a cabinet post, and basically votes NO to most things put before him.  More laws?  We already have several million too many.  We are drowning in laws, edicts, regulations and bureaucracy.”  I got a call last week from a fellow who had bought a 23 year old, used copy of, “I Hold These Truths” from Amazon for $17.50 plus shipping.  He liked it so much that he somehow found my phone number to congratulate me and tell me it should be re-printed.  He was no customer of ours, had never heard of Colorado Gold, and was delighted that I had indeed re-printed it and ship it new for $9.95!  Crazy.  Once, 20 years ago, I was walking through a J.C. Penney store and a fellow stopped me and asked me if I was Don Stott, who wrote I Hold These Truths.  My picture on the original made me look 23 years younger.  (If you want 12 of them for gifts or to place on the rack of your store, I can send you 12, for $7 each.  I can ship them in a flat rate box a lot cheaper than individual ones.)
