I think we’ve established that government schools are a disaster, but let’s take a quick look at post-secondary institutions. First off, God forbid you are not a leftist entering college. If you believe in right and wrong, or that America is exceptional, or that your race shouldn’t define you, you will be vilified by the faculty at most US colleges and universities. It’s just a disgrace to see how our youth are being brainwashed to believe that everything that made us the greatest nation on earth is wrong and must be undone. There is only one side to their story, and it points to the end of this nation as we know it. That is not hyperbole. The far left in this nation dominate the educational system and they will do whatever it takes to turn us into an entitled, whiny, subservient ?society?, completely dependent on the government – the exact opposite of what made this country great.
Free speech has been under attack on college campuses for decades. Think about that! If you have an opinion that differs from the current leftist agenda, you’ll be banned from campus commencements and forums. That, or have your presentation drowned out by leftist radicals, who have nothing but emotion to back up their positions. And don’t even think about defending the 2nd Amendment! You might actually be burned at the stake if you believe in the right to bear arms. When was the last time you heard a coherent set of facts set forth by some ridiculous student protest movement? Never, that’s when. It’s all about the war on women, or income inequality, or free tuition, or war crimes, or Occupy Wall Street, or black lives matter, etc.
Speaking of free tuition, that is exactly where the left is heading now. Have you noticed how every news outlet is pining for all these poor students who owe all this money for their college education? Each of these students knew exactly what they were signing up for, and exactly what they would owe once they graduated, but it’s not their fault! That doesn’t matter to the socialists who are now running the schools and the executive branch. Part of the liberal agenda is ?free education? for everyone. Of course we know that nothing is free. Have you seen how the cost of college education has skyrocketed over the past 40 years? Tuition has actually increased 1120% since 1975! That’s 3 times as fast as the price of food has increased, and over twice the pace of health care’s increase. Why is there no national outrage and a demand for those responsible to be held accountable! It’s very interesting to see how the whole issue of college cost is spun by the media. It’s not that colleges can’t control their costs; it’s the student loans fault! Huh? It’s OK for colleges to continue to enrich themselves unabated?
Why do you think Obama federalized student loans during his first term? Why do you think he’s trying to minimize the credit damage done to those who default on their student loans? It’s another giant wealth redistribution scheme. Eventually, all of these loans will be paid for by the 33% of us who actually pay income taxes. That is exactly what is going to happen. And, true to the Saul Alinsky playbook to never let a crisis go to waste, the government will push for free education for all. It’s going to happen, I’d bet everything I have on it.
As an aside, how much of the tuition increase can be attributed to government intervention? If private institutions where the only ones providing student loans would there be more restraint on the costs? Would a for profit institution even issue a student loan for a liberal arts degree when there is no market for a graduate of that program? There is a debate to be had, but there are quite a few factors at play in this debate.
