A bit over 50 years ago, the do gooders in Washington D.C. passed the law which outlawed segregation. This law resulted in tens of billions of dollars to be spent on school busses and their drivers, fuel, insurance, etc to bus white kids to black schools, and the reverse. It caused more tens of billions to be spent in futile efforts to make blacks equal with whites. There is no such thing as "equality" in anything. This law caused millions of whites to perform what was called "White flight," by moving out of wonderful homes often passed down from generation to generation, to escape the blight, and ruination caused by blacks moving into a neighborhood. Real estate plummeted in price, and entire neighborhoods were destroyed. The so-called "Civil Rights Act," was perhaps one of the grossest mistakes ever performed and voted upon by both Republicans and Democrats. The events caused by this asinine law have never been erased, and the costs and calamities caused by it remain to day, in part anyway. Not only was it stupid and costly, but it never worked. Only fanned racial hatred on both sides.
Today, segregation is in full bloom, but without any laws to enforce it. Whites stay by themselves, as do blacks and Hispanics. Not by laws, but because they don't want anything to do with each other. White working classes live in neighborhoods populated by white working classes, and the same is true with all races, income, education, and cultural levels, regardless of race. How many black members of symphony orchestras are there? Maybe less than one percent. What percentage of any education and cultural level, does not mix with the level and neighborhoods they feel comfortable with, regardless of race? They all do. Self segregation, is a human trait. A normal one.
In my town of 19,000, there are maybe 1% blacks, if that many even, and perhaps 30% Hispanic. We love our Mexican population, eat in their restaurants, hire them, and have no racism at all. The Mexican population, even in my small town, mostly live in what we call "TF," which is "Taco Flats." The "TF" neighborhood is no slum! It is simply homes owned by Mexicans who have lived here for a hundred years. They associate with each other, like each other, decorate their homes in similar ways, and it is a compact, virtually crime free area. In major cities, whites move out when blacks move in and the same with Hispanics. No law has ever been able to defeat "white flight," and no law can eliminate free choice.
Over a hundred years ago in New York City, blacks moved into Harlem, and whites left. Whites are now buying Harlem properties, restoring them, and it irritates the blacks. Jews lived in the Lower East Side, and wealthy whites moved out into Long Island. In Philly, Jews lived in South Philly on the east side, and Italians on the west side of Broad St. Jews sold out to blacks and moved to white upper Roosevelt Blvd. Where "Rocky" lived was near "K & A" or Kensington and Allegheny" and whites still live there. Italians still live in South Philly on the west side. Society Hill, full of 200 year old row houses, still houses wealthy whites, as can be seen in the comedy, "Trading Places."
We are the products of out upbringing and early childhood parenting, home schooling, and exposures. If our parents didn't expose us to classical music, good grammar and table manners, we grow up that way. Nothing can change the way we were brought up, and laws which try to change this, are futile. "Birds of a feather, flock together," and that's natural law. Racism, is merely a desire not to associate with those who have been raised with a different set of values as we have. Since 70% of black births are illegitimate, and most public housing is inhabited with blacks and Hispanics, and therefore most of these people are permanently stained with their upbringing, no wonder neighborhoods change when minorities move in.
In my town, when a car goes by with a loud exhaust, and is lowered, it will me a teen male Mexican, who thinks he is a manly sort of character by annoying others. I one time confronted one and asked him if he had changed his diapers lately. He became incensed, and I explained to him that when a baby needs its diapers changed, it cries and makes noise to attract its parent to comfort it. I, therefore asked him if he makes a lot of noise to attract attention? The answer was yes. Then, obviously, he is a baby, with little smarts, and needs his diapers changed. He rushed off in a loud noise. He'll mature eventually, and like his parents, will become a member of society. Whites who are immature, will have fancy pickups with loud exhaust…to attract attention, naturally, as an example of their upbringing. Segregation and actions of all races is so obvious, and is totally the result of intelligence, upbringing, education, exposures, surroundings in childhood, etc, and nothing, nor any law can ever change it. Trades people, carpenters, welders, plumbers, electricians, roofers, etc, will have children who are proud to be tradesmen. Educators the same, musicians also, wealthy the same. Single parent families have children who are doomed from the start in my opinion, which no law can change. We are victimized by far too many laws.
