That’s correct. The media reports that at a typical Hillary rally, she many times get as few as 400 attendees, even with advertising and her admitted fame. She can’t fill a stadium, so never rents one, as Trump has done dozens of times, to overflow crowds. Trump gets thousands and turns away thousands. Hillary gets a few hundred Hillary spent the last week before the debate ‘preparing’ for it, or was she just trying to muster enough strength to be able to stand for two or three hours without collapsing? No cough interruptions allowed the debate masters have ruled. On the internet, there seems to be ample proof of there being a Hillary ‘double’ who appeared outside her daughter’s apartment after she collapsed during the 9/11 remembrance. Also on the internet, are her very foul-mouthed screams at her employees, and possible fake backgrounds at one of her appearances. Who knows? There is a lot of garbage on the internet, but the above seems to me to be pretty accurate. I check the Drudge Report every day, and I am sure its contents are not fake.
I mention the above, because last Thursday, with no advertising, and nothing but a tiny newspaper story and internet publicity, in Grand Junction Colorado, population maybe 50,000, I went to a Donald Trump JUNIOR rally, and was swept off my feet. I have never been to anything like it! As I write this the day after, I am still deeply impressed and thrilled. Never have I ever attended anything like that. Close to a thousand were there, and as people filled their seats, I figured it was going to be OK, with a few speeches, and then we all go home. Nothing like that happened, and I was startled, to put it mildly. It was wild. It was absolutely great.
As it began with prayer, flag salute and National Anthem, everyone was cheering and standing on their feet. As each person was introduced, more standing ovations and wild cheering. I was on my feet too, and the crowd was yelling T R U M P and U S A, many many times, and clapping and cheering as loud as their lungs would allow. This was before Donald Jr. even got to the podium. There was a WW II vet who had three purple hearts introduced, and the crowd went wild.
When Donald Jr. was introduced, the cheering and yelling lasted till he begged them to sit down. His speech wasn’t great to me, but everyone loved every word of it. One of his points was that in America, there are 49 million sportsmen. Those who shoot, hunt, fish, etc. He pointed out that those 49 million, if they loved his dad and voted for him, could carry the election. Interesting fact. Donald Jr. loves his Dad, and assured everyone that he doesn’t need the job, but loves America, and is determined to do all he can to make it great again.
There were all types there. Beards, tee shirts (which were given away free till they were all gone. I got one), cowboy hats, and hundreds of blue jeans of course and both working classes, and wealthy. The parking lot had all types of cars in it, and this represented all types who were there. The whole thing lasted but an hour, and as I left, I had such a warm glow, as I am sure everyone else did too. I still can’t get over such a patriotic, cheering, flag waving, yelling, happy, thrilled lot of people I saw there. I’m not the type to cheer and yell, but I got into it immediately, and never had so much fun in an hour. It was not what I anticipated, but it was absolutely great. I cannot imagine a Hillary event’s attendees carrying on like that, and I’ll bet, but do not know, that the flag salute, prayer, and sing aren’t part of her preliminaries.
The whole point of this, is that with the wild enthusiasm happily demonstrated for Trump’s son, I fail to see how Trump can lose, unless, as I have written, the Democrats have some hideous thing to pull, as they did with Goldwater, but Goldwater was never as wildly popular as is Donald Trump. Colorado’s western slope is pure conservative, but the state as a whole has voted Democratic for many decades, thanks to the front range of Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, etc, which seem to, like most big cities, be Democratic. To more wild, cheering, came the news that Trump is so popular, that he is ahead in the state, according to the latest polls. That is a huge leap!
Words simply cannot describe the love, optimism, and patriotism I saw and participated in last Thursday. I’ll remember it always, and be glad to say that this family is voting for Donald Trump. If you have a chance to go to a Trump rally, it will be a thrilling shot in the arm, believe me. As you go in, everyone is handed a 12” X 18” plastic sign to wave for the press and sheer joy of expressing yourself, not to mention a keepsake. I treasure mine. Let’s hope the debate turns out well for ‘The Donald.’
