The Unfortunate

Many are those who depend on welfare to exist.  Before Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s Presidency, there was NO WELFARE, NO SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, MEDICAID, FOOD STAMPS, etc.  There were no public housing projects, Aid to Dependent Children, Obamaphones, or any of the many bureaucracies which dispense government money to those without.  How did people live, eat, and survive without these handouts?  The answer is simple.

         These People Didn’t Exist!

Didn’t exist?  No, they didn’t, because there were no handouts to allow them to exist.  There have always been poor people and there always will be.  It is impossible to eliminate classes of people, because the poor, middle and wealthy classes all have reasons to exist, be they good upbringing, good education, good mentality, parenting, surroundings, or even luck.  Liberals (progressives), generally have the mistaken idea that poverty can be eliminated by handing unearned funds to those who don’t have any. LBJ and other Presidents, plus members of the House and Senate, of both parties, but mostly Democrats, have tried since FDR (83 years!) to eliminate poverty with unearned handouts, and all we have now, is a large class of the poor, who generally show their appreciation by destroying what has been given to them as far as housing anyway.

The welfare state, as it has now become known, grows larger by the day, and has been bolstered by millions of illegals flooding across the Mexican border, to partake of Uncle Sam’s seemingly unlimited largess.  Not only has the welfare state, or more properly called, the ‘underclass’ grown, but they almost always vote for the party which votes for ever increasing unearned subsidies, the Democrats.    I well remember my shock in 1972, upon learning that government would issue food stamps, so that people could eat freely. Our once marvelous cities have become unsafe and full of abandoned cars, houses, and rubble everywhere.  The underclass grows, and the national debt increases…both on a daily basis.  Under Obama, the national debt more than doubled, and is impossible to repay, other than with worthless printing press money.

The old saying is that if a man is hungry, and you give him a fish, it will relieve his hunger, but if you give him a fishing pole, he will always be able to satisfy his hunger.  Throughout history, without exception, nations have self destructed because of bankruptcy and out of control government.  While Rome, Egypt, Syria, and even Babylon were attacked, their lack of ability to defend themselves was because of over expansion and inability to be able to afford defense.  No nation has been overthrown, while in a strong, non-welfare, fiscally responsible condition.  The Soviet Union failed because of bankruptcy, caused by the cold war which America won because we had more credit and money than did the communist Soviets.

Can the underclass, welfare recipient, basically worthless populace, be eliminated, or at least not increased?  Progressives will say that the poor need to be helped, and we need not be hard hearted and selfish.  Sounds great, but the handouts come from taxing the workers, builders, thinkers, and entrepreneurs.  No government can give anything to anyone, without taking from someone else or printing the money which destroys it.  As libertarians say, “There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch,” or “TANSTAFL.”  There are millions alive in the world, who should not live, because they are unable to care for themselves.  Sounds cruel, I know, but imagine America without a welfare state.  Imagine America without destroyed cities, huge crime, drugs, and all that is so evident now, and especially in big cities.  A solution?  How about freezing the system and allowing no new entrants, as a beginning.  Then, gradually cut benefits by perhaps 5% or 10% a year.  No new entrants into any welfare system at any level, at any time, and cut all welfare benefits at all levels, by 5% or 10% a year.  Some people will be hurt, but they’ll have to depend on charity, or go to work.  Actually, the above might save America from certain collapse in the future, from bankruptcy.  In history, no un-backed currency has ever survived.  In America, the dollar has become worthless three times already, and the current buck has lost 95% of its value (purchasing power) since the welfare state began 83 years ago.  The previous years had no inflation.  To illustrate the destructive power of un-backed paper dollars, look at WW II., which was fought with un-backed dollars.  In the 3 ½ years we fought in that war, prices exactly doubled.

Government, liberals believe, has unlimited funds to disperse to solve poverty.  In 83 years, we have destroyed money, and far more poverty than before 1933, when there was no underclass or slums.  There were poor neighborhoods and poor people, but no destroyed neighborhoods (slums), and there were an abundance of charities who received their funds from givers who volunteered to give, and didn’t have their money confiscated by huge taxes.  The old Bob Wills song “Time Changes Everything,” unfortunately is true.

The productive sector of inventors, builders, business people, and investors even, are responsible for all the wonderful inventions such as elevators, telephones, radios, automobiles, television, smart phones, washing machines, sewing machines, and the list is endless.  Welfare recipients and worthless, blood sucking ner do wells, criminals, and the non productive sector, contribute nothing, and slowly destroy this once grand nation.  The Founders had nothing in the Constitution, which allowed or instructed government to tax to infinity the productive, to give to their opposites, and destroy our nation.
