For over a year now, special Counsel Robert Mueller has been costing taxpayers millions of dollars, and has been investigating everything his mind can conjure, other than his original instructions and purpose. There is a Constitutional or legal question as to his even being there in the first place, not to mention his supposed power to fine, indict, and in any way possible, to inflame and cause doubt on any of his victims. He is now going to supposedly question or even subpoena President Trump, which he may not have the power to do, because the Special Counsel is part of the Constitutional Executive section of government, and Trump could tell him to go suck eggs.
The purpose of the Special Counsel was to investigate Trump’s participation or even knowledge of Russian influence in the 2016 Presidential election. Is there a Constitutional basis for such a counsel? The “Ethics in Government Act,” was signed into law by Jimmy Carter on October 26, 1978, basically as the result of the Watergate scandal, which cost Nixon his job. Title VI of that act, “Requires the Attorney General to investigate specific allegations of federal offenses by the President, Vice President, etc.” In other words, a ‘federal offense,’ or violation of a federal law, which Russian interference is not. That law was superseded by “28 CFR-600.1”, which basically says the same thing, when “A criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted…”
Mueller has been investigating for well over a year now, and has turned up zero as far as Trump having anything to do with, or knowledge of a Russian interference. The Special Counsel was instructed to discover a ‘federal offense,’ but having found none, has gone off on all directions he can conceive of, to prolong his pricey investigations, which technically have no time limits, cost limits, subpoena limits, nor interference limits on government operations or inconvenience to anyone.
A Special Counsel was appointed in the Whitewater and Clinton cases, because federal laws were involved, but neither Trump nor Russia have violated federal laws, although certainly a federal law should be voted upon as far as Russian or any other nation’s involvement in cheating or influencing voting. “Where there is no law, there is no violation.” Mueller’s investigation has no Constitutional permission to even exist in the first place, but after a year of turning up no evidence or “Criminal investigation” possibility of its stated purpose, should be shut down. Enough! Obviously, Mueller has a very profitable thing going, and a retired Marine, maybe could use a few extra million to tide him over, but give us a break Mr. Mueller. Either find Trump in bed with the Ruskies as a ‘federal offense’ during the 2016 election, or shut it down and go home. Trump didn’t even know about it. We have had enough. Trump is about the only one who could shut him down, other than the Attorney General, but he seems to be a first class wimp and scared of his own shadow, and if Trump did it, it would be political suicide. Anyone have any suggestions? Is this charade to go on indefinitely?
