The world is chock full of what I call, “Calamity Howlers.” I’ve mentioned the ‘ozone hole,’ which calamity howlers decided that if we didn’t change all our refrigeration from one kind of Freon to another Freon, the world would surely end. The white robed, ‘scientists,’ did a superb job of fake news, and America spent literally, hundreds of billions of dollars changing manufacturing, repairing, and even maintaining, air conditioners, refrigerators, and anything containing Freon, to a different type of Freon. Not only that, but if you wanted to buy Freon, you had to have a special license to do so, repairmen had to capture the old Freon, rather than let it loose to damage the world. I was in the ice cream business at the time, and it was a fraud plus a royal pain. The ‘new’ Freon, didn’t cool as well as the old Freon, so everyone’s electric bills went up…naturally.
Remember “Acid Rain?” This was back in the 1980’s, and more white robed environmentalists decided that acid rain was an ‘ecological Hiroshima.’ The forests would die off, lakes would become ‘death pools,’ and all the fish would surely die. One author explained that, “Acid Rain has become one of the most serious threats to life here on earth.” Oh dear! Please protect us oh wonderful experts. Teach us to stop this acid rain calamity. Guess what? Nothing happened. No one died, no forests died, no fish died, and we’re all still safe and sound.
In the 1968 a fraud named Paul Ehrlich wrote a book titled, “The Population Bomb,” which predicted that millions of people were going to starve to death. A quote from his book: “A minimum of ten million people, most of them children, will starve to death during each year of the 1970’s. But this is a mere handful, compared to the number that will be starving before the end of the century. And it is now too late to take action to save many of those people.” Starvation wouldn’t be the only problem. “By 1984, the United States will quite literally be dying of thirst. I predict that the rate of soil deterioration will accelerate as the food crisis intensifies. Meat will get more and more expensive, and most of us will become vegetarians.” None of it happened.
On it goes and has gone on for many decades. One crisis after another, predicting the end of everything, or at least most of everything. I started doing precious metals in November of 1977. What was common then, as it is now, is the prediction that the dollar will collapse, and one just has to protect themselves against it. How? Why, with gold and silver, of course. Look, I love gold and silver! I save in them! I save in them, because I know that inflation will continue, and government lies about everything. When I started doing metals, Krugerrands were $250, and silver was, I think, well under $4.00. Did it work? Did saving in silver and gold work for me and all who did likewise? You bet! Just stop this ‘calamity howling’ about dire things going to happen…almost immediately…naturally. Is the buck and un-backed paper currencies, a lousy way to save one’s surplus assets? I think so. A client of Morgen’s asked her what amount of metals should be included in one’s savings? She asked me my opinion, and I told her as above. I have never had a savings account. Why would I want to save in dollars? Why would anyone save in dollars? The point of this, is that there are always morons who want to sell books which predict imminent catastrophes of one form or another. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. No one knows what will happen ten minutes from now. No one! All you need to know is that gold and silver are real money, not dependent on any government, and have been so for thousands of years. We do it for one percent, including delivery, and with no employees, no advertising, no store fronts, and no B.S. of any kind. We’re so honest we think we ‘squeak.’ – don@coloradogold.com
