Four of a Kind

I recently picked up a book at a yard sale by and about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.  It’s a good read throughout, but close to the end, when he was nominated for the Supreme Court, it was horrible what he went through.  His opponents dragged up Anita Hill, who once worked with Thomas at the EEOC, and never accused him of anything.  She praised him over and over again, even after she left the agency.  Until he was nominated, and then she invented some of the most gruesome accusations ever on any record, which of course he vehemently denied.  No one could find any case of Thomas ever being unkind toward, or making any sexual propositions to any woman ever.  He almost said, “Forget it, “I’ve been through enough of these lies…”  He went through months of hideous forgeries and threats to his life, in spite of his spotless record throughout his entire life of government service.  His opponents cared not a whit about that.  They tried every dirty trick and fraud to try to stop him.  He won of course, and now has been a marvelous judge.  Thomas’ turmoil reminded me of at least three other candidates for office, who went through the same ordeals, by those who would do anything to keep that person from being installed in the office for which they were candidates .

Brett Kavanaugh, as a classic example, which we all remember I am sure.  The minute he was nominated for the Supreme Court, his liberal opponents dragged up Christine Blassey Ford, who invented fantastic lies about Kavanaugh and all the hideous proposals he supposedly made to her.  She was outraged.  Kavanaugh denied it.  Naturally, because it never happened, and Ford was proven to be a total fake.  Still, it went on and on, and naturally the media loved it, and widely publicized it.  Brett Kavanaugh felt the same as did Thomas I am certain.  Who needs it?  He finally made it, and he is a compliment to the court.

Vice President Andrew Johnson was a Democrat who ran with Abraham Lincoln, and became President at Lincoln’s assassination.  I am no fan of Lincoln!  He started the worst war in American history, killing 610,000.  That’s another story, but to his credit, when the war was over, Lincoln tried to take the South back into the Union with no hard feelings.  He wanted a peaceful United States, and he realized that it would be difficult, but he voiced his determination to do so.  He never got the chance, as he was killed before he had an opportunity.  Johnson took over and tried to continue Lincoln’s idea, but Republicans would have none of it.  They wanted the South to pay forever, and when Johnson insisted on peace with the South, Republicans impeached him.  Like the two above, Johnson went through the misery of Thomas and Kavanaugh, seemingly without end.  He won in the Senate, fulfilled his entire term, went back to the South and was elected to the Senate.  Foolishly, the media today calls him, “One of the worst Presidents.”  Naturally!  The media unmercifully slammed Kavanaugh with lies and unproven gossip, as they did to Thomas and Johnson.

Now it’s Donald Trump.  We’ve all witnessed Trump’s travail in the media, on both TV and press.  He has been lied about deliberately over and over again, with Schiff and company flaunting the Constitution with impunity.  Trump stopped the Ukraine handout 13 days before he made that phone call, and in that phone call, he never once mentioned money, and the Democrats KNOW IT.  He stopped it because he wanted answers to the corruption which existed.  Biden and his son are the corrupt ones and the Democrats know that also.  Why not impeach him?  Trump has been through the works, just like Kavanaugh, Johnson, and Thomas.  Neither of the four deserved it, but their opponents, in all four cases, wrote the books and set the records for slander, lies, and provocations; all undeserved.  How sad!  Will Trump be found guilty in the Senate?  Of course not.  He broke no law, but impeachment will stick to him and the other three like glue for their entire lives.  Democrats now say they may impeach him again!  It’s amazing how the D.C. swamp, even in the 1860’s, needs a good cleaning and disinfecting.

Please have a happy new year!
