Martin Luther King

Actually, Martin Luther King Day, is, as far as I know, the only federal holiday not concerned with a president or a holiday such as Thanksgiving or the 4th of July.  I resent that, as do a lot of other people, even such as my bank, The Bank of Colorado, which is open today, January 20th, 2020.  Most businesses will be open today, and I know of none which will be closed.  Is MLK Day being ignored, or are some realizing that it should not be a holiday.

I believe the Civil Rights Law should have been passed when it was in 1965, or maybe even sooner.  It’s just that Martin Luther King is no example for African Americans or any other people to follow.   King had a super speaking voice and technique, of that there is no doubt.  Whether he deserved the title “Doctor” is questionable, since he cheated on his doctrinal thesis.  He also endlessly cheated on his wife, not counting all the laws he deliberately broke.  Everywhere King went, violence, chaos, and law enforcement troops holding forth followed.  I believe the late Rosa Parks was the true heroine of the civil rights movement.  She quietly declined to move to the rear of a bus.  No violence, no screaming, and nothing like when King was holding a rally.  She was arrested, but there was the rule of law present, and in court, she won.

The FBI used to have a really thick file on King’s various law infringements and violence causing, but I’ll bet those files have been conveniently lost.  No other civil rights leader was assassinated, because no other caused such hatred among those admitted southern idiots who refused to believe in the Declaration of Independence written by Tomas Jefferson, which says that “All Men Are Created Equal.”  No two persons of any race, are ‘equal,’ but in America, all have the same equal rights.  I’m old enough to remember when there no race riots.  Negroes were treated with respect, and no law can make one person or race like another.  The billions spent on school bussing never created equality, but fostered hatred.  Hopefully, all that is behind us now.  All races, be they Italian, German, Native Americans or African Americans all chose to live near or associate with their own, which is human nature, and no law can or has been tried to stop that human nature.  Magazines and TV ads all have races mixed to promote a product and no one objects.  I hope mob violence seemingly typical in past days is over now, and I wish we could abolish Martin Luther King Day, and once again have “Washington’s Birthday,” and “Lincoln’s Birthday” holidays like we used to when I was growing up.
