The Disaster Lobby

First things first, or at least as far back as will illustrate the current absurdity.  Remember “Y2K?”  That was years ago, when the calendar changed from 1999 t0 2000.  ‘OMG, the computers will not do that.  They will think it is zero, not 20o0, and everything will crash.  All the computers will freeze, and we’ll have no water, electricity, food, gas, or anything.‘  It didn’t happen, but the computer scientists said it would, because after all, aren’t they the ones who understand all this?  I guess not

Then there was the Ozone cloud, which I am sure has existed for hundreds of years.  After its accidental discovery, scientists screamed that we were all in mortal danger, and the only way to save ourselves, was to get rid of that nasty Freon, which was influencing the ozone cloud.  Many of us asked, ”Are you  kidding?”  But who are we to distrust science with all their computers, and other scientific stuff?  It cost probably a trillion dollars around the world.  Every single refrigerating device had to be changed from Freon 12 or 22, to Freon 134, which wouldn’t destroy the ozone cloud.  Sure enough, governments everywhere, declared war on Freon, and under penalty of prison, huge fines, or other governmental powers, all were changed.  It made millions of refrigerators, air conditioners, and like, obsolete, and caused, them to be scrapped, junked, or converted. All to save the ozone cloud, which scientists swore would save humanity.  The ‘new’ Freon isn’t nearly as good as the ‘old.’  Ask any refrigeration man. That was decades ago, but we all were ‘saved’ from destruction, thanks to modern science, plus it cost many their life’s savings, business bankruptcies, and other monies it took to make us all safe from that poisonous cloud.  The ozone cloud is still there, and I’ll guarantee you it will be there for more hundreds of years, as it probably has been for the past hundreds of years.  Only we’re all a lot poorer.  Thanks science!

Now we have the biggest fraud of all, and the most expensive as well.  Al Gore isn’t even a scientist, nor are many of the current alarmists, who bellow, that literally “We must save our planet!”  How?  By getting rid of all fossil fuels, eating no meat, buying electric cars and trucks, and the list seems to be endless.  We’re all in great danger, as is literally, the entire planet.  OF late, the Journal (Wall Street) has run a couple of columns about the climate change nonsense, pointing out that a recent ‘scientific’ 4,000 page report on climate change, has no proofs or evidence of any kind.  The report also pleasantly omits the fact that carbon dioxide is wonderful, and makes plants and trees grow.  Also, the report didn’t mention that a single volcanic eruption, and there are many each year around the world, emits more carbon dioxide, than a hundred years of green nonsense will eliminate.  The report did mention casually, that in the last hundred years, Earth’s temperature has increased by a bit over one degree, but failed to point out that such changes have occurred hundreds of times in Earth’s history.

I subscribe to a quarterly magazine called “Range.”  It likes to talk about the American West, its ranches, beef producers, and is vary informative and conservative as well.  It has beautiful color photos of ranches and ranchers.  From its current issue, I am going to quote a small part of an article written by David Wojick, Ph.D.

“We should laugh at climate hysteria, especially the future proposals for stopping evil climate change.  Electrify everything, running it on wind and solar?  Restructure the economy?  Restart the world in a green image?  Stop eating meat and drinking milk?  These proposals are all laughable, as is the scary science that supposedly justifies these outrageous proposals.  Politicians have been competing, blind to the simple fact that they are staking their careers on impossibilities.  True science is based on observation, and we are seeing nothing to support these fantastical models.  Floods, draughts, heat waves, hurricanes and wildfires, are all continuing to occur in normal amounts.  It’s the same with sea level rise.  Dealing with natural disasters by not using anything but sun and wind, is just nuts. Wind farms?  It takes sustained strong winds of over 30 MPH for full power, which seldom happens in America for very long.  What does happen frequently, is that they produce no power at all during prolonged periods of low wind.  In fact, heat waves and cold snaps, when we need the most juice, are often low wind events lasting a week or more.  Solar reliably produces no power two thirds of every day, and none for days in bad weather.  There is no way to store the huge amounts of juice we need daily.”  Of note:  Recently a huge battery array designed to store wind and solar power, caught fire and was destroyed.

Continuing by Dr. Wojick:  “We can all look  forward to the collapse of alarmist climate policy.  The best way we can do that, is to make fun of it, because the stupidity is truly hilarious.  In the short run, we will need some good blackout jokes.  Also, some good electric vehicle charging jokes, which ought to be easy.  Also, we really need good jokes about bad science.”

We are being deluged with this climate change nonsense.  It is 24/7 on most TV, print, and radio.  It is an accepted fact that we and the planet are all doomed, unless we promptly change everything in our civilization, and do it quickly.  It’s all a huge pile of rubbish, proving as in the past, that science may be good at some things, but it can easily be swayed by bad science and equal journalism.
